The 2023 Travelers Championship Recap

Cromwell, CT – Keegan Bradley has won the 2023 Travelers Championship, shooting a score of 23-under par for the tournament.  This win marks Bradley’s sixth victory on the PGA tour and the second one of this season.  This victory now puts him in fifth for the FedEx Cup Points standings and earned him a career-best $3.6 million in earnings.

Like Wyndham Clark last week at the U.S. Open, Bradley relied on his Odyssey Versa Jailbird to putt him to victory.  He lead the field in strokes gained putting despite missing the cut last week.  That flat stick seemed like a magic wand at times as he drained putt after putt and nearly shot a PGA Tour record-low 72-hole score.

It wasn’t a given that Bradley would be able to close out the victory today though.  In fact, the last four times he’s held the lead or co-lead after 54 holes, he’s failed to secure the win. Each time prior, he’d finished in second place.  While Patrick Cantlay was within striking range, and top talents like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy were close, ultimately none could best Bradley.

The next stop on the PGA Tour will be the Rocket Mortgage Classic.  At that event, Tony Finau will look to defend his title where last year he won by five strokes.  Despite it not being a designated event, there will still be stiff competition for Finau to fend off.  Others who have committed to play will include Max Homa, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, and Collin Morikawa.
