The 2026 Baycurrent Classic Recap review

Yokohama, Japan  – Michael Brennan has won the 2026 Baycurrent Classic.  This marks his third PGA Tour win and his second this year, following his win at the Wyndham Championship back in August.  With a winning score of 16-under par, he earns 500 FedEx Cup points as well as $1,440,000 in prize money.

Going into the final round of play at the only PGA Tour event held in Asia, there were three Americans all tied at the top at 13-under par.  Those three players were Michael Brennan, Zach Bauchou, and Jacob Bridgeman.  It wasn’t just those three in the mix, though, as there were an additional 12 players within four shots of that lead, including Justin Thomas, Keith Mitchell, and Max Homa.  Ultimately though, it was Brennan who separated himself from that bunched-up field.

Brennan’s secret to success was really his driver.  This week, he ranked fourth overall in driver distance, hitting it over 320 yards on average.  On top of that, he was deadly accurate.  In his final round, he hit 15 out of 15 fairways, and he also hit 55 out of 60 fairways on the week.  This advantage has allowed him to win three PGA Tour events in just 33 weeks.

Xander Schauffele was this event’s last winner, and although he wasn’t in the mix at the start of the round, he certainly was at the end.  Heading into the final hole, he was just one shot off the lead.  Unfortunately for him, an errant tee shot led to a double bogey.  He would finish in a tie for 4th place with a score of 13-under.

Another notable performance was by former number-one-ranked golfer in the world, Adam Scott.  The 46-year-old had told reporters earlier this week that he was becoming frustrated that he hadn’t won on tour in over six years.  Going into the final round, he was only one shot back of the leaders, but ultimately, it seems like he’ll continue to be a bit frustrated missing out on what would have been his 15th PGA Tour victory.  He would ultimately finish tied for 13th with a score of 11-under par.

The travel continues for the Tour players with the next tournament, The Butterfield Bermuda Championship, being held in, you guessed it, Bermuda.  There, Adam Schenk will surely look to defend the title he won there last year.  Other past champions of that event include players like Fafael Campos, Camilo Villegas, and Seamus Power.  That event will conclude on October 25th, and the field will be competing for their share of a $6 million purse and FedEx Cup points.
