Memphis, TN – Scottie Scheffler has won the 2026 FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. This marks Scheffler’s second win this year, and his 21st PGA Tour career win. Along with the trophy and title, he also takes home $3.6 million in earnings.
While still arguably the dominant force on tour, Scheffler had a disappointing year by his standards in terms of victories. Despite winning early at The American Express back in January, he would come up short over and over again this season, racking up five different second-place finishes, including finishing only one stroke back at The Masters. With this win, he becomes the third youngest player to earn 21 career wins since 1960.
This week he was finally able to put all of the aspects of his game together, though. While everyone knows of Scheffler’s extreme skill as a ballstriker, it was his putting that really set him apart this week, as statistically, it was the best putting performance of his career. Watching live, the announcers were already calling the tournament a foregone Scheffler win halfway through his round. With scores of 68, 61, 68, and 66, he would finish with a total of 17-under par.
This win was really a historic one. It marks his 5th straight multi-win season, and he’s the only player to accomplish that feat in the last 40 years besides Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Despite the extremely talented field, nobody really played well enough on the final day to truly challenge Scheffler. In fact, he won the event by 8 strokes over the second-place finisher Si Woo Kim who finished at 9-under par. That is the largest margin of victory for the entire year, and Scheffler now becomes one of a small handful of golfers to win multiple events by eight strokes or more.
Next week, the PGA Tour’s playoffs continue with the BMW Championship hosted at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri. There, the field will be limited to the top 50 players, who will compete for their chance to advance to the Tour Championship the week after. That honor will be limited to the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup points standings, and clearly Scottie Scheffler will be the consummate favorite as the playoffs continue to heat up.
