“Raw” Finish Now Available on Staff Model ZM Wedge
CHICAGO, IL – Wilson Golf has unveiled a “RAW” finish option available on their successful Staff
Model ZM Wedge franchise.
A RAW finish on golf clubs is a popular choice among tour professionals who
prefer a weathered look with no glare. Staff Model ZM Wedges with the RAW finish
will arrive with an uncoated finish, that over time will rust and turn into a beautiful,
personalized, piece of equipment.
This offering is available on their Staff Model ZM Wedge family which launched in
2024. The Staff Model ZM Wedge offers cutting-edge technology which can
benefit any golfer’s game.
- ZM GROOVES – The deep ZM Grove pattern combined with Garnet Face
Blasting ensures longer ball-to-face interaction resulting in consistently
high spin rates and control in all weather conditions. - GARNET BLASTED FACE – The rough Garnet Blasting grabs the ball as it
slides up the face of the wedge which results in enhanced spin rates. - MILLED PATTERN – Microgrooves milled in between each full groove
ensure maximum feel and control around the green.
“The RAW finish can enhance feel off the face when hitting approach shots. So, for
golfers who want a more responsive feel at their fingertips, the RAW wedge is a
great option,” said Harry Nodwell, Manager, Product Line at Wilson Golf. “We
remove the plating on the face allowing for oxidation to occur which results in
rusting of the club head. Also, when introducing water to the club head, you will
notice it starting to rust quicker,” he added. “Some golfers like the weathered look
as it also helps prevent any sun glare at address. Plus, it adds a unique and
personalized look in the bag,” said Nodwell.
The wedges can only be ordered through Wilson Golf’s club customizer. A custom
shaft and grip are required to complete a purchase. There are no preassembled
stock offerings.
