The BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 golf bag has tons of well-organized storage and a 14-way top. A comfortable carry thanks to ample padding, but this bag is best on a cart of some kind.

Introduction
The BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 is a big bag with a big name. This is the larger brother to the Dri Lite Hybrid [review HERE], BIG MAX’s most versatile golf bag. I took one for a couple loops around the course to determine if this is one bag that can really do it all.

Looks
There’s an art to doing a lot without doing too much, and the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 has mastered it. This is a golf bag with a healthy dose of branding, but it doesn’t look like a billboard. It has more visual interest than the vast majority of modern bags, but it’s not too busy or trendy.
A lot of this bag’s aesthetic appeal comes from the mix of materials – SoftGuard PU blended with “advanced waterproof fabric”. The color differences are eye-catching at a distance, but the mix of textures draws you in for a longer, closer look. You can add a custom touch by embroidering the removable magnetic panel on the back.

The BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 comes in four colorways: black/charcoal/red, olive green/black, navy/white/red, and black/off white (seen here).

Features
There are golf bags with more pocket capacity than the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2, but few that can organize your gear as well. On the back of the bag, there’s a cooler pocket that can hold four cans easily. There’s also a cavernous ball pocket with a magnetic pouch on the front that you can use to keep a rangefinder within arm’s reach.

The left side of the bag features two zippered pockets – one small, one medium. I prefer these smaller pockets because they keep your gear accessible rather than letting it get lost in the abyss. These left side pockets would be ideal for sunscreen, snacks, or tees.

On the right side of the bag, there are three zippered pockets. The smallest is the velour-lined valuables pocket which sits on top of a slightly larger, unlined pocket. Below both is a pocket large enough for a rain suit or sweater. A novel feature of this specific pocket is that it’s expandable – a zipper on the bag’s front lets it grow to hold even more gear.
In addition to the eight pockets, the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 has an excellent umbrella holder, a towel holder, and velcro strap for holding your glove. This golf bag also comes with a matching rain hood.

Performance
Starting at the top, the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 has 14 full length dividers. The opening is 9″, leaving plenty of room for a full set of clubs. Even with every slot full, I could slide clubs in and out with ease.
One thing to note is that the larger opening for a putter grip is at the “bottom” of the top. I could get a midsized putter grip into some of the other compartments, but the dedicated slot works best. If you’re particular about how your clubs are laid out in your bag, this may or may not fit your preferences.

Turning to the long name of the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2, fans of BIG MAX will know that “Dri Lite” means water resistant. While I wouldn’t use this bag to transport a winning lottery ticket across a river – water resistant is not waterproof – the excellent materials and zippers will keep your gear dry in any conditions that are reasonable for golf.

The “Hybrid” portion of the name refers to this bag’s ability to do it all. Weighing in at 5.5 pounds, this bag is more bulky than heavy. There’s excellent padding in the straps and against your back, and the bag balances comfortably. Additionally, the legs work well, snapping in and out thanks to a hinged base.

On the pushing or riding side, the base of the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 is designed to sit securely on a wide variety of carts. Also, the shoulder straps detach in seconds. For me, having the straps completely out the picture is a big plus when I’m pushing or riding.

While the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 is capable of getting around the golf course in any way that you choose, I do think this is best as a cart bag. It’s not too heavy at 5.5 pounds, but the vast amount of storage space begs you to make it heavier – no one buys a Corvette to drive the speed limit. The excellent straps and stand can still be appreciated when you’re taking the bag to and from the cart or using it on the range.

Conclusion
Most golfers that I know ride most of the time, but they still want a quality stand and the option to walk. For those players, the BIG MAX Dri Lite Hybrid Tour 2 is one of the best bags available. This bag will keep your clubs and gear organized while looking sharp.
