I enjoyed this podcast a lot (and the website). I revisited the article you wrote on Club Champion fitting back in November 2017 after listening to the podcast. Getting fitted clubs is something I’m interested in. I know the cost of the fitting but do you have any idea as to the cost of the clubs themselves? I haven’t been able to find much information. I’m sure it’ll vary from brand to brand but how much more is the upcharge with the fitted clubs vs. off the rack clubs.
Louis,
Great question. There is no “upcharge” for fitted clubs – if you bought the, for example, the PING G400 irons from Club Champion, they would cost the same as they would from a big box. Where added cost comes into the equation is from getting different shafts, grips, and having them custom built. The range of those costs is enormous, but if you talk to your fitter about your budget beforehand, they will find something that works for you and is affordable.
Best,
Matt
