Ashworth Golf Reveals Official Apparel For U.S. Team At The Presidents Cup 2013

Players’ uniforms to include seven special-edition styles inspired by team captain Fred Couples
CARLSBAD, CALIF. (September 23, 2013) – Ashworth Golf, an authentic brand dedicated to bringing modern style to the golf course, will be the official apparel supplier of the U.S. Team at The Presidents Cup 2013, to be held on October 1-6 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. In addition to the 12 playing members of the U.S. Team, Ashworth Golf will also outfit Team Captain Fred Couples and his two captain’s assistants.

The U.S. Team’s uniforms will feature a collection of seven uniquely-designed golf shirts embodying the patriotic colors of the United States in carmine (red), white and navy blue. In addition, each member of the team will be presented with two layering pieces in dark grey heather and navy.

Couples, captaining The Presidents Cup for the third time in his illustrious career, played a primary role in the selection of the fabrics, styles and prominent colors of each piece in the collection. Throughout the process, Couples sought to incorporate his favorite design elements from apparel worn throughout his career.

“It’s an honor to play for the United States at The Presidents Cup, and it was important to me that my players represented our country in premium shirts that are comfortable, look great and fit properly,” said Couples, U.S. Team captain and Ashworth brand ambassador. “The specially designed Ashworth pieces tell that story, and I’m proud the team will be wearing them on one of golf’s biggest stages.”

This year’s event marks the 10th Presidents Cup, created to give the world’s best non-European players an opportunity to compete in international team match-play competition. A biennial event played in non-Ryder Cup years, the United States has won four consecutive and holds a 7-1-1 overall record.

Nippon Shaft Wins Tour Championship And FedExCup

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2013) – Sunday’s winner of the TOUR Championship and the FedExCup utilized Nippon Shaft products in his irons to become the first European to win the PGA TOUR’s $10 million season-ending four-event playoff series.

The 37-year-old Swede used the N.S. PRO MODUS” Tour 120 X flex shafts in his irons to shoot 13-under par 64-66-69-68-267 and earn a three-stroke victory at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. He led the entire tournament, and had a four-shot lead going into Sunday’s final round. In addition to the $10 million FedExCup bonus, he won $1.44 million for winning the tournament.

IJP Design Launches Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection

IJP Design, golf apparel line of championship golfer Ian Poulter, has announced the launch of its Autumn/Winter range – the 13th line in its evolving collection – promoting bright and elegant styles with a sporty and elegant finish. The new tartan palettes combine an eclectic mix of shades including ultramarine, raspberry, and ink.

The new collection will be launched on 27 September with a further line, called ‘Resort’, added from 1 December. The ‘Resort’ line incorporates a duck egg shade designed to seamlessly blend with the refreshed palettes in the Spring/Summer 2014 collection meaning garments can be mixed and matched across seasons.
