Henrik Stenson Wins Tour Championship, FedEx Cup
ATLANTA — Maybe it was a blessing in disguise.
What had been a nine-shot lead when he made the turn on Saturday at East Lake had dwindled to four when Henrik Stenson finished off a rain-soaked 69 that included three bogeys in his last five holes. Turns out, the reality check was just what the superlative Swede needed as he contemplated what turned out to be a career-defining final round at the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.

IJP Design Announces Launch of Women’s Line
Prestigious British golf wear label, IJP Design, has appointed an official ladies testing panel for the soft launch of its first and highly anticipated ladies golf apparel range this month.
The exclusive panel is made up twenty testers including club captains, media and lucky competition winners. Each panel member will sample garments from the capsule collection, which showcases a limited selection of pieces ahead of the full ladies launch in spring/summer 2014, and feedback comments to help shape and inform the full collection launch.
The capsule collection comes as a result of demand for a ladies IJP Design range and high quality ladies golf attire. It takes tried and tested elements from men’s range and mixes classic pieces with a feminine twist.
Poulter’s trademark tartan trousers have been re-created in a soft, feminine palette made up of four colours: Raspberry, Taupe, Ultramarine and Golf Ball White. This palette enables every piece to be mixed and matched whilst working together to create a number of outfit combinations so style savvy golfers can personalise looks suited to their individual tastes.
Ian Poulter, said:
“It’s important to have a panel of female golfers testing the new ladies capsule collection. I sample the men’s range and feedback my style and design ideas before it goes into production, but there’s only so much I can contribute to the ladies range unless I start wearing skorts!
My ambition to create a functional but stylish range that reflects the on-going progression of ladies golf will be achieved through this capsule collection thanks to the testing panel. They are the mouthpiece for female golfers and are really helping to shape the full launch collection in Spring/Summer 2014.”
The IJP Design capsule collection will comprise shirts, capris, jumpers and accessories that harmonise with the distinctive tartan shades with plans for expansion in spring/summer 2014.
As professionalism and standards in the women’s game grows to the same prominence as their male counterparts, so too does demand for high spec clothing that complements performance. The IJP Design ladies collection will be available from its online store and selected retailers from September 2013.
This collection has been designed with golf in mind but the timeless look of the pieces means the clothing can suit everyday activities as well as the golf course.

This year Sun Mountain will also be featured in the on-site Presidents Cup merchandise tent selling US team-logoed outerwear.

Mizuno JPX-EZ Irons Set New Standard for Forgiveness
Sweet Spot Exceeds RocketBladez by 83 percent, Ping G25 by 55 Percent and Calloway X-Hot by 52 percent, Providing A Level of Game Improvement Potential Unlike Any Iron on the Market
Norcross, Ga. (September 18, 2013) – Mizuno, a recognized leader in iron innovation and technology, today announced the next generation in its successful JPX line of game-improvement irons, the JPX EZ. The new line establishes an entirely new standard for forgiveness, dramatically eclipsing the competition with a sweet spot that’s 83 percent bigger than TaylorMade Rocketbladez , 55 Percent larger than Ping G25 and 52 percent larger than Callaway X-Hot irons.
The announcement should come as little surprise, considering Mizuno’s long-standing reputation for developing superior irons, whether in forged or cast game-improvement models. When it comes to design, manufacturing and performance technologies, the company simply is unwilling to compromise quality for the end user, as evidenced by it’s JPX predecessors, the 800 and 825 lines, and now with the dramatic improvements featured in its new JPX EZ irons.
“We realize that sweet spot claims have been played out in our industry, but there’s just no way around the eye-popping performance numbers that the JPX EZ’s have produced time and time gain throughout the testing process,” said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager, Mizuno USA, Inc. “To put it bluntly, the JPX EZ’s are in a class by themselves in terms of forgiveness on the course and arming golfers at every level with the ability to enjoy consistency in their game. In light of the dramatic numbers the EZ’s consistently produce, it seemed only appropriate to introduce a dramatic new look thanks to the exclusive DuPont-blasted, matte black finish.”
The JPX EZ’s provide golfers the ultimate boost in confidence, allowing them to assert an aggressive “pin-seeking” attitude on the course like never before. They deliver exceptional ball speeds for explosive distance combined with the largest sweet area ever incorporated by Mizuno to provide a consistent ball flight, and most importantly, consistent scoring.
The latest addition to the JPX lineup of game-improvement irons utilize Mizuno’s HOT METAL and MAX COR technologies to create an ultra-thin face that delivers an improved ‘trampoline effect’ to deliver the highest allowable ball speeds for maximum distance.
The four-through-seven irons offer a MAX COR ultra pocket cavity design that delivers a massive sweet area for extreme forgiveness and a low, deep COG for optimal trajectory. The eight-iron through pitching wedge utilize a Deep Pocket Cavity Design delivering increased accuracy with the same massive sweet area and maximum forgiveness in the scoring irons.
In addition to the EZ’s unparalleled distance and forgiveness, Mizuno utilized Harmonic Impact Technology (H.I.T), the study of head vibrations, to strategically deliver elite sound and feel with maximum MOI and an extremely high COR. The JPX EZ provides an ideal combination of amazing distance, extreme forgiveness, awesome feel and a sleek look to help golfers of any level hit better shots while playing more consistent.
