New Pro Combo Irons from Nike

Yesterday, Nike Golf announced/leaked/unveiled their new Pro Combo iron set, available November 1.  These definitely have big boots to fill as the old Pro Combos were loved by many.  This new version features pocket cavity design in the 3-6 and split cavities in the 7-PW.  Even more notable is that the pocket cavities feature “Shot-making-gel” which will give the long irons more forgiveness and more ball speed.

Stay tuned for a PluggedInGolf review of these irons in the near future.

UST Mamiya Elements Used By Winner Of The Chiquita Classic

FORT WORTH, TX – September 9, 2013 – UST Mamiya, maker of the world’s finest carbon fiber golf shafts, reports the winner of the Web.com Tour Chiquita Classic relied on an Elements FIRE shaft in his TaylorMade® Driver to earn his second win this year.

“UST Mamiya wants to congratulate the winner of the Chiquita Classic” said Robb Schikner, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This is the 2nd win in three weeks for Elements shafts on the Web.com Tour. Elements shafts provide greater stability in the mid-section of the shaft for ideal launch and spin for maximum distance and greater accuracy.”

UST Mamiya’s advanced research lab has uncovered new data that proves Mid-Flex Stability is the most important feature in the golf shaft for spin and launch. The research to isolate the benefits of Mid-Flex Stability has led to the design and extension of the mid-section profile to enhance performance, reduce dispersion and increase ball speed. The result is longer, straighter and more accurate shots.

SuperStroke Golf Wins Omega European Masters, Places 5 Top-5 Finishes

The Omega European Masters came down to a 2-man playoff. On the first playoff hole, a 14-time European Tour winner rolled in a 12-foot-putt with his SuperStroke Mid Slim 2.0 putter grip to take home his first win since this event in 2011. The Mid Slim 2.0 played a big part in victory, helping the player finish 2nd in putts per round and 4th in putts per GIR.

A SuperStroke grip was also used by the runner-up, a 37-year-old native of Scotland. This player switched to the Mid Slim 2.0 and shot the low-round of the tournament, a 10-under 61. He also led the field in Putts per Round for the event (26).

Beyond the winner and runner-up using SuperStroke grip technology, the players finishing 3rd, 4th, and T5 also trusted in our patented putter grips. This type of global success further validates SuperStroke Golf as the #1 grip technology in golf.

Quick Stat: All of the top-4 finishers used SuperStroke putter grips and finished in the top-6 in putts per GIR.
