Cobra Puma Golf Renews Partnership with 2015 Honda Classic

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2015) – As part of a multi-year sponsorship, COBRA PUMA GOLF returns to the 2015 Honda Classic, a PGA TOUR event held Feb 23  March 1, at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. This year COBRA PUMA GOLF is partnering with Goslings to provide fun fan experiences throughout the week at the famed “Bear Trap” at the 17th hole. 

“We are really excited to again partner with The Honda Classic, helping to increase our brand presence on TOUR,” said Bob Philion, president & CEO of COBRA PUMA GOLF. “As an added bonus for tournament attendees we will have a number of our CPG athletes playing in the field including, Rickie Fowler, Jonas Blixt, Graham DeLaet and Will Mackenzie stop by our cube throughout the week to sign autographs and meet fans.”

COBRA PUMA GOLF Village in partnership with Goslings- Located in the “Bear Trap” at the signature par 3, 17th hole, the COBRA PUMA GOLF village is the perfect environment for spectators to take in all the golf action while having a little fun. Offering dynamic views of golf, premium seating and a cash bar serving up specialty beverages, the COBRA PUMA GOLF village is the place for fans to visit at the Honda Classic throughout the week. 

COBRA GOLF Simulator – Come test the new COBRA Golf Fly-Z products and play the infamous par 3 that finishes off the iconic Bear Trap in the COBRA Golf Simulator. 

COBRA PUMA GOLF Merchandise Cube – Fans can take home some of COBRA PUMA GOLF’S latest and greatest gear by visiting the merchandise area setup directly behind the hospitality tent. While listening to music and enjoying specialty beverages, spectators can visit the mobile store and purchase PUMA Golf apparel and accessories. 

Athlete appearances – COBRA PUMA GOLF athletes will make surprise visits to the village throughout the week, to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. In addition to the pros playing in the field, including Fowler, Blixt and Mackenzie, Greg Norman (scheduled to be onsite Friday at 1:00p.m.) and Holly Sonders, will make a special guest appearance in the cube. Michael Jordan Explores Building Super-Private Golf Course in Fla.

According to several sources with ties to Jordan, the basketball legend is exploring the possibility of building his own private club in Florida, an exclusive retreat with a tiny membership hand-picked by His Airness himself.

A PGA Tour pro who lives in Florida and is friendly with Jordan confirmed the story. Jordan’s business manager, Estee Portnoy, did not respond to a request seeking comment.

Sources say that Jordan’s course ambitions have been fueled in part by his dissatisfaction with goings-on at the Bear’s Club, the Jupiter club where MJ is a member and owns a lavish home.

Tiger Woods Will Not Play the Honda Classic

Tiger Woods will not play in next week’s Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

With the entry deadline fast-approaching, tournament officials and Woods’ agent confirmed that the former world No. 1 would not be in the field.

In a message posted to his website last week, Woods announced that he would take an indefinite leave from golf while he worked to improve his game.

“My play, and scores, are not acceptable for tournament golf,” Woods said in the blog post. “Like I’ve said, I enter a tournament to compete at the highest level, and when I think I’m ready, I’ll be back.”
