Northwestern Mutual to Sponsor Tiger’s Event

Tiger Woods’ annual limited-field tournament that benefits his foundation has landed a title sponsor in Northwestern Mutual.

The Tiger Woods Foundation announced that the tournament, now in its 15th year, will be called the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge, with an 18-player field that includes Woods.

PGA commissioner denies bid for European Tour

PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem rebuffed suggestions that it had made an offer to purchase the European Tour on Wednesday.

It had been reported that the United States-based PGA tour had made a bid for its European rival.
