Introduction
Having recently traveled with my Vessel Lite Stand bag [review HERE], the timing for my testing of the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag was fortuitous. With a six-year age gap, it was easy to recognize the various design upgrades that Vessel has incorporated into the Sunday IV Stand bag. Yet I was reminded how well my Lite Stand bag still looks and performs. It’s a testament to the quality materials and craftmanship Vessel puts into their products. Now, on to the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag.
Looks
One word really sums up the look of the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag – high-end (or is that two?). It starts with the luxurious looking synthetic leather material that begs you to touch it. Then your eyes notice the well-executed stitching on the leather handle and the chrome accents. As we’ve seen across the Vessel family of golf bags, branding is minimal, adding to the premium message.
The silhouette of the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag easily identifies it as a golf bag intended to be carried, but not one stripped of essentials. The long side pocket zipper acknowledges you might need to carry a sweater or an extra towel, yet the pocket itself looks sleek, reminding you not to pack too much. On the other side of the bag is one of my favorite Vessel designs – the folding, magnetic water bottle pocket. There’s one on this bag, keeping the look clean and high-end.

Features
I mentioned the insulated water bottle sleeve above, and there’s another staple of Vessel bags that the Sunday IV Stand includes – the velour lined, magnetic range finder pocket. Located just above the 360° zip-off ball pocket, the range finder pocket has a generously sized loop for easy access and is fairly deep.
A relatively new feature we’ve highlighted in recent reviews, an Apple Air Tag holder has been included in the back of the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag’s ball pocket. It’s very discreet and took me a minute to find, even knowing where to look. Not quite as hidden, but of about equal size, is a wedding ring pouch in the velour lined valuables pocket.
Vessel added a pretty cool feature to the Sunday IV Stand bag – removable tether straps. The adjustable, buckle straps feed through two sewn loops providing the option of securing a jacket to the outside of the bag. I found this valuable for securing my wet rain jacket when a brief storm passed. So simple, so genius.
And I have to give a shout out to the towel ring/bottle opener. It came in handy when a playing partner ran into his house and brought back four cold beverages but no opener. Pro tip – slip the towel ring off the bag, the bottle opener is the slotted side.
Performance
With “stand” right in its name, let me start with the legs – they work flawlessly. Vessel utilized their patented Rotator Stand System which extends and retracts the legs with military like precision. Plus, the base of the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag sits flush with the ground, creating a very stable setup.
The 8” x 6.25” 3-way top has full length dividers that did a fine job at keeping my clubs’ handles from commingling. I was pleased to see Vessel clearly stating that the Sunday IV Stand can accommodate 14 clubs, but that it recommends no more than 10. I tested the bag with my normal “lite” setup of driver, 7-wood, 5-7-9 irons, 54° and 58° wedges, and putter, and was very happy with the space.
The Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag comes with two strap options – the Equilibrium 2.0 Double Strap and a single strap. The Equilibrium 2.0 Double Strap features a central hub that allows the straps to pivot and adjust to the needs of the moment – getting the bag on or off my shoulders or walking down the fairway.
The buckles Vessel uses to secure their straps to the bag are simple and intuitive to use, and they made switching to the single strap a breeze. But here’s a pro-tip – take note of which hub each end of the Equilibrium 2.0 Double Strap connects to before removal. I ended up having to look at another Vessel bag to get it straight. Both strap options are nicely padded, making for a comfortable carry either way. [See Price / Buy]
Conclusion
As you may have already concluded, I found the Vessel Sunday IV Stand bag outstanding. I love the size and features that align nicely with my carry and travel needs. Whether it’s the 3-way top, the legs, or the straps, functionality made for effortless use. Priced at $309 and weighing 4.95 lbs., the Sunday IV Stand is well positioned in the Vessel carry bag lineup.
