Skechers Go Golf Elite V.3 LX Golf Shoe Review

50 Words or Less

Outstanding comfort and impressive traction.  The premium leather Skechers Go Golf Elite V.3 LX may become your favorite golf shoe of 2018.

The Skechers Go Golf Elite 2 ended up being one of my favorite golf shoes of 2017.  In fact, they were the shoes I grabbed to play Streamsong Black this past January when walking comfort was my top priority.  In this review I’ll make a close examination of Skechers latest offering, the Go Golf Elite V.3 LX, with its premium leather upgrade.

The Go Golf Elite V.3 LX maintains the clean, contemporary look of its predecessor.  The charcoal color leather is highlighted with red lace loops and interior fabric.  The red stitching around the toe and heel give the shoe an upscale finish.  The large embossed Sketchers “S” on the outside of the heel is subtle and unassuming.

The LX model also comes in chocolate and stone colorways.

I was amazed at the previous generation’s comfort, but the premium leather of the LX takes it up a notch.  The Skechers Go Golf Elite V.3 LX are form fitting, but the air mesh lining inside allows them to slip on easily and acts like a breathable membrane for your foot.  You could definitely wear these shoes without socks – especially with the abundant cushioning around the ankle.

My heel stayed locked in place, and I liked the freedom of movement that the cut around the ankle provided.   Outstanding comfort from heel to toe.

The Skechers Go Golf Elite V.3 LX has a great mix of traction elements on the outsole.  Down the sides, narrow diameter nubs provide grip in varied turf conditions as well as bare ground.  Down the center, the pointy triangles look like meat tenderizers ready to harness serious swing forces.

Like so many spikeless shoes these days, I won’t be wearing these indoors, except at the clubhouse.  Overall, traction is solid, and I’d be remiss in not mentioning the 2 year water proof warranty.

Great traction and all day comfort – two hallmarks of a really good golf shoe.  I also found the neutral foot position of the Skechers Go Golf Elite V.3 LX a perfect fit for my posture goals at address.  The contemporary style is very pleasing to my eye and coordinates well with most apparel.  The darker colors of the LX model are perfect for wearing with long pants.  If you prefer classic white, don’t hesitate to choose a pair of the standard Elite V.3 – that’s what you’ll see me wearing this summer.

  1. Nice review here, I’ve heard nothing but good things about Skechers golf shoes so it looks like I really need to try a pair firsthand.

  2. One of if not the most comfortable shoe
    On the market.

I went with a white pair this season as the price point was great ($99) and they have not disappointed. Replaced my Ecco Bioms and FJ DNAs. exceptional comfort!

Finally found out what was wrong with my game this year.skechers shoes destroyed my posture.went back to 3 pairs of old shoes.all worked .Skechers put weight all on heels.caused back & hip problems.matt koucher must wear something special.

    • Thanks for the feedback Scott. Shoe brands – and styles – do indeed set up posture differently. For me, Skechers provide good a well balanced stance.

Does this model shoe have good arch support Skechers GO GOLF Elite V.3 I have some very bothering heel spurs and I use the Ecco Natural Motion Biom shoes that were given to me and at least I can play golf with a lot less pain. I walk 18 hole about 3 times a week.

I may not be able to address your particular concerns, but I will state that these Skechers are some of the most comfortable for walking that I’ve ever worn. Arch support wasn’t something that grabbed my attention, so it wasn’t lacking or excessive.
