IRVINE, Calif. (September 1, 2016) – Premier club designer and manufacturer Fourteen Golf today officially launched its new TF-616 irons and is expanding loft options on the TF-Wedge series, both aimed at providing enthusiastic golfers with enhanced performance.

The TF-616 irons are aimed at mid-handicap golfers who needs forgiveness but who enjoys the pure feel of a soft forged iron. Oftentimes, mid-to-high handicap golfers must find forgiveness in cast irons that do not have the soft feel forged provides.

The TF-616 irons provide golfers with responsive feel and effortless launch by using a single material structure engineered with a deep undercut cavity in the manufacturing process, according to Masashi Kamoda, chief operating officer of Fourteen Golf. This special Fourteen Golf technology brings the greatest possible center-of-gravity depth to a soft forged iron, allowing for a reduction in loft that helps promote increased distance, Kamoda said.

“Fourteen Golf is excited to offer the new TF-616 irons, which have been designed specifically for mid-handicap players who have been looking for the soft feel of a forged iron while not wanting to sacrifice ease of use,” Kamoda said.

“In our longer irons, the center-of-gravity (CG) is set as deep as possible, helping to get the ball up in the air quickly and promoting a longer ball flight,” Kamoda explained. “In the short irons, the CG is placed as shallow as possible, with a higher CG height. This promotes well-controlled shots and a more penetrating ball flight.”

MSRP for TF-616 irons in sets of 4-iron through Pitching Wedge is $1,000. A P/A wedge is available for $145.

The TF Wedge series has been designed with input from Tour players, who like to create different shots using the same wedge. As a direct result of this Tour input, Fourteen Golf engineers rounded the toe and heel areas of the TF Wedges and actually removed the back portion of the sole in order to facilitate a variety of shots by merely opening or closing the face.

“Fourteen Golf’s TF Wedges rely on our original ‘reverse muscle-back’ design to provide enhanced stability while incorporating Tour-inspired innovations that enable more creative shot-making around the greens,” Kamoda said.

The TF Wedge series, which already comes in lofts of 52, 56, and 60 degrees, will be expanded to include 50 and 58-degree lofts. They have an MSRP of $150.

A premier designer and manufacturer of high-quality golf clubs, Fourteen Golf has been part of 70 professional victories since 2010.

The recently re-launched website makes it possible for golf consumers to order customized clubs online. Fourteen Golf designs and manufactures drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters.

unnamedBobby Weed Golf Design Renovates Spanish Oaks Golf Club

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida (August 31, 2016) – Bobby Weed Golf Design ( has been retained for some on-course upgrades to the golf course at Spanish Oaks Golf Club, a private club in Bee Cave, Texas, near Austin, in the Hill Country. The course, which opened on October 26, 2001, is an original Bobby Weed design.

“Spanish Oaks is a growing club, an outstanding development with a young, vibrant membership and with fantastic amenities,” said Bobby Weed, president and CEO of Bobby Weed Golf Design. “The intent is to improve overall conditions on a more consistent level, and to accommodate future events and challenge the best players in the country.

Spanish Oaks Golf Club is the site of the 2016 Texas Mid-Amateur, to be played Sept. 23-25. The club also hosted the 2013 Trans-Miss Golf Association Four-Ball Championship.

“What makes Spanish Oaks so special,” Weed said, “is Daniel Porter, its founder and chairman. He is very passionate about the game of golf and the community at Spanish Oaks.

“He’s always been a competitive golfer, having played college golf at the University of Houston. He’s a successful businessman, but more importantly, he has had a great vision for this club and golf course.”

The Renovations

The renovation project at Spanish Oaks Golf Club includes work on the practice areas as well as on the golf course.

In the short-game area, bunkers have been added, the two greens have been enlarged and more hitting area has been added surrounding the greens, resulting in greater practice variety. The main tee on the driving range will be expanded, as will the tee area at the far end of the range. At the far end, an academy building will be constructed, with two hitting bays as well as another short-game area and putting area.

“When we finish, we should have some of the finest practice facilities of any private club in Texas,” Weed said.

On the golf course, Bobby Weed Golf Design is renovating every bunker, installing state-of-the-art subsurface drainage and new sand to allow the bunkers to play more consistently and more firmly throughout the year. Some of the bunkers are being enlarged to restore them to their original shape, as over time many had grown in or edged out. Visibility of all the bunkers will be improved by raising the floors and lowering the fronts to where they once were.

Scott Hamilton, golf course superintendent, is overseeing the day-to-day improvements and coordinating with Cornerstone Golf and Signet Golf on the course improvements.

Additional upcoming and future improvements include adding five to seven new championship tees throughout the golf course.
