CARLSBAD, Calif. (October 27, 2014) – Three players who finished among the top four Sunday (Oct. 26) at The McGladrey Classic –including two who competed in a sudden death playoff – utilized Nippon Shaft in their irons.

Finishing at 14-under par in regulation play was the 34-year-old veteran tour pro from Zimbabwe, who used N.S. PRO PROTO ORA steel shafts in his irons. He qualified for the playoff thanks to a 5-under par 65 at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Resort.

Also qualifying for the playoff at 14-under in regulation was the 40-year-old outdoors enthusiast from North Carolina, who used N.S. PRO PROTO ST steel shafts in his irons. He also used N.S. PRO PROTO WV 125s steel shafts in his wedges.

“Nippon Shaft is extremely proud to be able to provide a variety of high quality steel shafts for both irons and wedges that players from all over the world use to compete on all major professional tours,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for the Japanese club maker. “These outstanding shaft products have been developed with input from the best players in the world, and we believe we have answered their needs.”

Nippon Shaft long has been the most popular steel shaft on the LPGA Tour, thanks to its ability to manufacture a shaft that combines light weight and sturdiness, which ensures maximum control.

In recent years, Nippon Shaft has successfully expanded its product line to include shafts designed for PGA TOUR professionals and low-handicap amateurs, adhering to the same stringent quality standards that have been the hallmark of its brand.

Over the years, Nippon Shaft recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours worldwide, as the best players in the world increasingly chose to install in their irons steel shafts manufactured in Japan to unparalleled quality standards.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Nippon Shaft’s dedicated global club fitter network. Details of these can be found at

Nippon Shaft manufactures all of its steel and graphite shafts in a state-of-the-art factory in Komagane, Japan. The company’s integrated production lines are strictly monitored and controlled with thorough checks conducted responsibly through the entire production process. As a result, Nippon Shaft is able to control high product quality – from material selection to final testing.

Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia. Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer. Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.

Fourteen Golf Releases New RM-21 Wedge

IRVINE, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2014) – Fourteen Golf, one of the industry’s premier golf club manufacturers, has released its new RM-21 wedge. The latest iteration of its popular RM series, the RM-21 boasts a clean look, additional loft options and subtle, but effective design tweaks that enhance playability.c

“Without a doubt, the RM-21 is the most complete wedge we have ever developed,” said Marcy Kamoda, the COO of Fourteen Golf. “Fueled by feedback from PGA TOUR professionals, it is engineered to give golfers of any skill level the touch and feel around the green they need to succeed.”

The RM-21 takes the best traits of the popular RM-12 and incorporates a series of new features to bolster its performance. Fourteen Golf’s original trapezoidal grooves have been standard throughout the RM series, and the volume of each groove has been enhanced, thus fostering better spin and enabling players to excel in any type of lie.

Similar to earlier renditions in the RM series, the RM-21 relies on a “reverse muscle” tapered design in which the upper blade of the wedge is thicker, thus allowing more weight distribution on the top. This fosters consistency and stability throughout the swing, while also increasing the spin control of each shot.

The RM-21 features different sole variations based on its lofts. The square-shaped standard sole features new loft options of 42 and 45 degrees, while the tapered-shaped standard sole is available in loft models from 48 to 58 degrees. The wide sole comes in loft models of 56, 58 and 60 degrees.

It lists at $185.00 and is available at and several major retailers as listed at

Chase54 Introduces Transformational Technology

CHASE54 presents innovative Heat Retention technology, proving that change of season can be seamless and comfortable on and off the course. The company introduced the new innovation at last year’s PGA Merchandise Show and garments are now available online. The process is the ultimate recycling system wherein energy absorbed from surrounding energy sources is transformed into heat moving into the fabric and reducing the need for a bulky insulation. The fiber qualities come from within, as the functions are added to the yarns during its liquid phase, becoming an all-inclusive part of the composition.

The new Luke Quarter-Zip Pullover is created with this nano-technology in an exclusive polyester two-toned pique fabric, also presenting UPF30 Protection. The dynamic technology actively absorbs energy from the sun, the body and also artificial light. Once captured, it transforms to heat and is locked away in the fabric for enduring warmth. The fabric is incredibly elegant for possessing such strong technical features, therefore transitioning well from the course to daily life. Because the piece is categorized within CHASE54’s signature DryFuze™ moisture-wicking category, the golfer maintains excellent temperature balance.

• DryFuze™ 2-tone polyester pique is perfect for mid-layering year round
• Heat Retention by CHASE54 captures and holds light energy from sunshine, body heat or even artificial light and transforms it into heat – keeping players warm and ultra- comfortable.
• Moisture wicking
• Side pockets for stashing your personals
• “YOUR FIT” is neither baggy nor fitted
• Imported

“The technologies we embark upon at CHASE54 just keep getting better and better; and fusing fashion and function is what we excel at,” says Lulu Faddis, Chief Designer and Creative Director. “We are so scientifically savvy when it comes to fabric, ensuring technologies are not simply topical but come from the innate features of the yarns…it’s a priority to us to use only the best of the best,” she adds. “Our TEAM54 Tour Pros say the Luke is a versatile piece for layering on chilly mornings or breezy winter afternoons,” Faddis adds. “Transitional pieces like this can be worn on course, in the office, out for coffee or for a fall walk,” she adds.
