Martin Kaymer ties course record with 63 to lead Players Championship
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Martin Kaymer stopped thinking, started swinging and played his way into the record book Thursday in The Players Championship.
Kaymer missed only two fairways. He putted for birdie on all but one hole. And the former PGA Champion finished with four straight birdies to become only the fourth player to shoot 9-under 63 on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, giving him a two-shot lead over Russell Henley.
Kaymer took advantage of a perfect day for scoring – warm weather, hardly any wind and soft greens.

Oban Composites Launches Kiyoshi Tour Limited Shaft, A Premium Addition To The Critically Acclaimed Kiyoshi Product Line
CHICAGO, IL, APRIL 17, 2014: OBAN Composites, a leading designer and manufacturer of the world’s top-performing composite shafts, announces the launch of its new Kiyoshi Tour Limited, available in the TaylorMade SLDR TP driver, and through OBAN’s worldwide custom fitting dealer network.
The 2014 Kiyoshi Tour Limited offers unprecedented control and extraordinary feel for players seeking to improve accuracy and distance. OBAN’s latest technologically superior shaft innovation was designed to radically decrease ovalization throughout the golf swing. Ovalization occurs when the shaft becomes less cylindrical in shape due to the bending of a shaft during the swing. To maintain the shaft’s geometric shape during the load and unload sequence, OBAN engineers fused 46-ton pre-preg composite with exotic 4-axis materials, wrapping the entire length of the shaft.
“The intricate use of the 4-axis material throughout the shaft offers a unique feel and extraordinary structural stability,” commented Victor Afable, OBAN President. “The Tour Limited launch represents the culmination of years of research and development. Initial feedback on Tour and interest from custom fitters has been remarkable. We are confident that players in pursuit of more distance and increased accuracy will find the Kiyoshi Tour Limited intensely satisfying.”
