Golf News – May 17, 2016

In recent years, Nike has met with the golf teams of several top programs around the country to drive the creation of custom uniforms. Conversing directly with the athletes, designers garner insights into specific performance needs and pair this information with school heritage and environmental factors to conceive styles specific to each institution.

A case study among the bespoke school uniforms, the University of Oregon look showcases the school’s signature green and yellow, as well as its “O” insignia. Additionally, a graphic featuring Oregon’s state tree, the Douglas fir, adorns the team polos and golf bags. Each polo will also be personalized with a number of the athlete’s choice.

The custom uniforms will make their on-course debut during the men’s and women’s NCAA regional and national tournaments.

The NCAA pack is available now on for the following universities: University of Oregon, University of Southern California, University of Arizona, Duke University, Ohio State University, Stanford University, University of Washington, University of Texas, Wake Forest University, University of Georgia, University of Oklahoma, University of Tennessee, University of Florida.

CHASE54, the evolving apparel brand named for the pursuit of the perfect score in golf, congratulates TEAM54’s Will Wilcox on his history-making ace on No.17 during round two of The Player’s Championship. Wilcox’s hole-in-one on the famous 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass was the first since Miguel Angel Jimenez in 2002. During this electrifying achievement, Wilcox sported the Affleck Polo, one of the most popular new shirts in CHASE54’s Spring 2016 collection.

“We’re so proud Will was wearing CHASE54 golf apparel during this remarkable achievement,” says Lulu Faddis, Creative Director for CHASE54. “We loved Will’s energetic reaction to his ace…the passion and energy is exactly what CHASE54 embraces, as described by our tagline – FOR THE PURSUIT,” Faddis adds.

“The reaction from the crowd on that shot was mind-blowing. Making that many people happy from striking a pitching wedge was so surreal. It is something I will never forget and I can’t wait to get back for the 2017 Players Championship,” says PGA Tour Player Will Wilcox.

Faddis adds that history is incredibly important to CHASE54, a company who has created apparel for 35 years and produced more than 400 million garments. “We take pride that our factories, our designs and now our athletes, are literally making history together, and that Will wore the Affleck Polo to do it in,” Faddis says.

CHASE54’s Affleck Polo features a diamond abstract print, created with a signature CHASE54 sublimation printing process. The polo offers DryFuze® moisture wicking technology and mechanical stretch for full mobility on course. Removable powder-coated collar stays, which the brand is known for, and UPF +40 protection top off the innovative style.
