PHOENIX (March 4, 2014) – Club-fitting pioneer and leader PING announced a new program today that distinguishes its Top 100 National Fitters of the Year.
The awards salute those Authorized PING Fitters who have demonstrated the highest commitment to custom fitting and the promotion of its benefits to golfers of all abilities.

We’ll continue to support them with ongoing training and education, plus innovative new fitting tools, software and research. These fitters can serve an important role, bringing more people to the sport by demonstrating how properly fit equipment helps them play better and enjoy the game more.”
Solheim said PING offers its certified fitting accounts a growing array of tools and software to dial in a more precise fit while making the process easy, cost-effective and convenient. They include the Advanced Fitting System Interchangeable Fitting Cart; the iPING® putter app; a new putter-fitting package, and both nFlight and nFlight Mobile fitting software. The newest tool, available April 1, is nFlight Motion, a device that clips onto a driver shaft and recommends a driver model, loft, and shaft after only three swings.
Winners were chosen based on points earned across several criteria and disciplines, including custom orders, commitment to ongoing training, sustained sales growth, use of PING tools and technologies, and support of the entire PING product line.

NIPPON SHAFT WINS LPGA PLAYOFF IN SINGAPORE
CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 3, 2014) – A former U.S. Women’s Open champion used Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO V90 steel shafts in her irons Sunday en route to winning the HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore on the second playoff hole.
The victory was the first since the 2010 Women’s Open for the 27-year-old LPGA Tour star who drained a 75-foot eagle putt to close the competition. The native Californian started the day trailing the leader by four strokes and finished tied with one other player at 10-under par for the 72-hole tournament.
“Nippon Shaft is very happy that our products were chosen by one of America’s premier players to win the HSBC Women’s Champions event in Singapore,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for the Japanese club maker. “We congratulate her on this outstanding victory – and a fantastic putt on the second playoff hole!”
The winner shot 67-73-69-69—278 in regulation, one stroke ahead of Nippon Shaft player Karrie Webb, who triumphed last week.
Nippon Shaft long has been the most popular steel shaft on the LPGA Tour, thanks to its ability to manufacture a shaft that combines light weight and sturdiness, which ensures maximum control.
In recent years, Nippon Shaft has successfully expanded its product line to include shafts designed for PGA TOUR professionals and low-handicap amateurs.
Over the years, Nippon Shaft recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours worldwide, as the best players in the world increasingly chose to install in their irons steel shafts manufactured in Japan to unparalleled quality standards.
Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Nippon Shaft’s dedicated global club fitter network. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com
Nippon Shaft manufactures all of its steel and graphite shafts in a state-of-the-art factory in Komagane, Japan. The company’s integrated production lines are strictly monitored and controlled with thorough checks conducted responsibly through the entire production process. As a result, Nippon Shaft is able to control high product quality – from material selection to final testing.
Nippon Shaft has more than 100 professional victories worldwide. Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia.
Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer. Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
