Sun Mountain Combo offers Golf Push Cart and Bag in One

Missoula, Montana – Sun Mountain continues to innovate the golf bag and push cart markets with the introduction of the new Combo cart. Combo is a golf push cart and golf bag in one; offering convenience, stability, and durability. Combo folds for storage and opens easily for use. Combo is slated to be in golf shops Summer 2014 with a retail price of $469. For the retailer nearest you, call 800-227-9224 or visit

When folded, the Combo cart fits into a car trunk flat, and can also be stored vertically in a clubroom; occupying about half of the space of a separate cart and bag. When it’s time to hit the course; simply swing the front wheel into place, release the rear wheels, and set the handle height. When on the course, Combo offers the added bonus of a built-in seat that stores flat to the bag when not in use and then folds down for a secure and comfortable seat including a back pad.

The bag on the Combo offers full-length, individual club dividers, and eight pockets including a full-length clothing pocket, velour-lined valuables pocket and a beverage pocket. Also, if for some reason the bag ever needs to be replaced, it can be easily removed from the cart frame and replaced.

The frame of the Combo cart is constructed from a strong and lightweight aluminum. The accessory tray offers convenient spots for scorecards, beverages, balls, tees, as well as phones and wallets and other personal belongings. The solid foam tires and synthetic wheels on Combo are maintenance-free and a foot-operated braking system holds it steady when parked on hills.

For 30 years Sun Mountain has been a pioneer in the golf industry, revolutionizing golf bags, golf outerwear and golf carts. Golf Pride Is Hometown Favorite at 2014 U.S. Open

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Power management company Eaton announced todaythat its Golf Pride Grips Division was far and away the leading grip brand chosen by players at the 2014 U.S. Open, played at Pinehurst No. 2 just a few miles from Golf Pride’s world headquarters. In fact, 129 of the 156 (83%) players competing in the game’s most demanding major, trusted their games to Golf Pride grips.

Of those playing Golf Pride, 21 players relied on Golf Pride’s popular New Decade MultiCompound grips in trying to tame Donald Ross’ masterpiece in the Sandhills of North Carolina.  That single model’s usage exceeded any other competing brand’s total usage. Furthermore, 89 players relied on one of the popular Tour Velvet models (Tour Velvet, Tour Velvet Cord or Tour Velvet Super Tack), making the Tour Velvet greater than 3 times more popular than all other competitors’ grips combined.

“The U.S. Open is widely acknowledged as the game’s most complete test of one’s game, so the fact that the best players in the world chose to play our grips without being paid to do so is the ultimate performance validation,” said Brandon Sowell, global sales and marketing director for Golf Pride.  “When the pressure is on and every shot counts, you need the feel of confidence in your hands, which is why the best players in the world continue to trust their games to Golf Pride.”

Gauge Design Golf Introduces The SPI-1 Devon Black Putter Featuring Patented Sole Plate Insert Technology

SAN MARCOS, CA, June 16, 2014… Gauge Design Golf, a premium golf company known for creating the most precise milled putters in the golf industry, today introduced its new SPI-1 Devon Black Putter featuring the company’s patented Sole Plate Insert (SPI) technology.

The SPI-1 Devon Black putter features a black PVD finish with the company’s patented sole insert. This innovative insert is made from 6061 aluminum, and is designed to allow for more weight to be placed in the heel and toe sections of the putter. This enhanced weight distribution improves performance on off-center putts and maintains a solid feel at impact.

“Our goal is to continually push the envelope in our efforts to produce high quality, innovative designs. Combining different visual elements and materials gives us the opportunity to create equipment that not only has a distinctive look, but also performs. The black PVD finish on the Devon putter looks great in the sun or shade, and when combined with our patented insert technology, it provides a winning combination of looks and performance,” said David Whitlam, Founder and President, Gauge Design Golf.

The SPI-1 Devon Putter features a precision milled 303 stainless steel body with a black PVD finish in the heel, toe and face and a 6061 aluminum sole insert available in either red or stainless steel. It comes standard with a 71-degree lie, 3.5-degree loft, and 350-gram head weight. It is available in lengths from 32″ – 36″. MSRP is $325.

SPI is the company’s patented Sole Plate Insert System – US. Pat. 6422950 – Filed September 11, 2000 – Issued July 23, 2002 – Whitlam International, Inc. This extremely successful design has allowed Gauge Design Golf and Whitlam Golf to be distinctively different from the many golf companies over the past 14 years. This patent is currently being utilized by the SP1-1 Joseph and Devon putters. Designs like this can be utilized over a number of distinct putter designs which makes it unique in the industry.
