Callaway Golf Apparel Launches Performance Cotton Products Part Of The New Opti-Soft Performance Technology

Miami (July 8, 2014) – Callaway® Golf Apparel, a division under Perry Ellis International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PERY), an internationally recognized leader in the golf apparel industry, has introduced two new industry leading developments, Performance Cotton fabrics in conjunction with Opti-Soft performance technology.

This latest development combines the vibrant colors and performance attributes of polyester with the soft feel and comfort of cotton. Designed to enhance comfort without compromising performance, Performance Cotton is the best of both worlds. The results are garments that offer a soft, natural feel combined with the performance golfers expect. Performance Cotton melds the most desirable attributes of cotton and polyester fabrics, eliminating the need to compromise performance for natural feel, or vice versa, and providing an unparalleled product in terms of both comfort and performance.

Launching for spring 2015, all Performance Cotton products will feature Opti-Soft product technology, a part of the Callaway Opti Series family of performance technologies, as well as both Opti-Dri and Opti-Shield performance technologies. Opti-Soft technology is designed to optimize the feel and comfort of a garment, while still providing maximum performance. Aldila’s Rogue Helps Drive Greenbrier Classic Winner To 3rd Tour Victory

POWAY, Calif. – The winner of the Greenbrier Classic picked up his third professional win on the PGA Tour playing Aldila’s Rogue shaft in his driver and 3 wood. He carded a 16-under-par 264 to win by two strokes, which included two rounds of 64.

He finished the tournament fourth overall in Driving Accuracy with a 82.14 percentage, was 11th in Driving Distance with a 307-yard average and recorded the third longest drive of tournament at 372 yards.

“Because of the extremely exotic, high-performance materials that are used in the construction of the Rogue shaft, it has very limited availability,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “Typically the materials are incorporated into only high-performance military projects and Aldila is one of the first companies to have access to the material for commercial use.”

On the Tour the winner of the Nova Scotia Open picked up his first victory playing Aldila’s Tour Blue in his 3 Wood. With the win he jumped from 80th to 12th on the Tour Money Leader list.

With the help of Aldila’s Rogue, Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts, Aldila swept the wood shaft manufacturer counts at the Greenbrier Classic. “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” had 10 more driver shafts, 26 more wood shafts and 13 more hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey.

Aldila’s Rogue was also the leading driver and wood shaft brand model of choice on the PGA Tour this week. It was the 13th consecutive week and 22nd time this season that the Rogue was the number one driver shaft brand model on the PGA Tour. So far this season the Rogue has helped Aldila win the driver shaft manufacturer count at 24 of 34 PGA Tour events, and capture the wood shaft manufacturer count at 32 of 34 tournaments.

The Rogue shaft is built on Aldila’s ultra-successful new “Tour” platform using the same tapered tooling and Nex Gen Micro-Laminate Technology™ that provide the exceptional performance of the #1 shaft model on Tour – Aldila’s Tour Green and Tour Blue.

“Aldila’s Nex Generation Micro Laminate Technology is comprised of ultra-thin layers of premium, low resin aerospace grade materials,” Oldenburg said. “This design evolution eliminates inconsistent shaft performance caused by material variability. Redesigned tooling also raises the shaft balance point, making this the perfect upgrade for today’s modern club head designs.”

By incorporating this new material, Aldila ( is able to make the shaft stiffer and lower torque without adding weight. At the same time, the placement of the material in top third of the shaft (grip end) allows the shaft manufacturer to slightly counterbalance the shaft to work well with today’s heavier driver heads and the longer length of modern drivers.

In recognition of the Rogue’s one-year anniversary on Tour, limited edition “tour authentic” Rogue shafts made with the same exotic materials as the Tour models, are now available for consumer purchase. Each shaft will be made in the USA at Aldila’s Research & Development facility in Poway, California and will be serialized with laser customization available to personalize each shaft.

Gauge Design Golf Re-Introduces The Il Tatto (The Touch) Putter

SAN MARCOS, CA, July 8, 2014… Gauge Design Golf, a premium golf company known for creating the most precise milled putters in the golf industry, today announced the re-introduction of its award winning Il Tatto (The Touch) Putter.

Il Tatto is a blade style putter that features tungsten weights on the heel and toe, creating a smooth swing and a large sweet spot. The sole extends out slightly in the middle and is accompanied by a singular site-line. Il Tatto ranked tied for 9th in accuracy in the 2013 MyGolfSpy “Golf’s Most Wanted!” Blade Awards.
