Furthering the Story of Performance, Feel, and Innovation: TaylorMade Introduces All-New Player Preferred P·770 and P·7CB Irons
CARLSBAD, CA – TaylorMade Golf Company, an industry leader in technology and innovation, announces the latest additions to the P·Series family with the release of P·770 and P·7CB irons. These players irons represent the next chapter in the P·Series story of delivering unparalleled performance, feel and consistency that P·Series irons are known for.
Tour Feedback and Design Inspiration
Tour feedback and exhaustive analysis led to the creation of a compact, clean profile in both the P·770 and P·7CB clubheads.
While both P·770 and P·7CB irons have the profile of a players iron with their thin top line and smaller blade, golfers will notice a significantly thinner, more compact shape in P·7CB. Regardless of which irons golfers choose, they will benefit from a look that exudes confidence, control, and precision that discerning ball strikers rely on. At the same time, the tried-and-true performance benefits of P·Series irons live on.
In the P·770 irons, a modified leading edge encourages both consistent shot shaping and clean turf interaction. The sole camber and progressive bounce profile of each P·7CB iron ensures consistent turf interaction throughout the bag. To date in 2024, Rory McIlroy won with a P·7CB 4-iron in his bag at the Wells Fargo Championship, and Collin Morikawa has had a P·7CB 4-iron in his bag for his top-five finishes at The Masters, PGA Championship and The Memorial. Morikawa additionally added P·7CB 5-PW to the bag at the Scottish Open and Open Championship for better turf interaction in the firm links conditions. Tommy Fleetwood played the P·7CB 3-iron at the Scottish Open and the Open Championship.
Pure Feel and Feedback
- Both P·770 and P·7CB irons are strategically engineered to provide golfers exceptional feel.
- P·770 irons utilize players forged construction to deliver pure feel at impact as well as exacting sound, responsiveness, and feedback.
- P·7CB irons are crafted using our Compact Grain Forging and 2,000 tons of pressure to create the purest feeling, most responsive 1025 soft carbon steel possible.
Consistent Shot Making Throughout the Bag
Consistency continues to be a keynote performance feature in the P·Series family. Both the P·770 and P·7CB irons incorporate precision milled faces and grooves that promote consistent launch and spin for optimal trajectory and distance control.
TaylorMade’s FLTD CG™ is a prominent component in P·770 irons. It positions the CG lower in the long irons and progressively higher in the short irons to foster ideal launch conditions with each individual club.
Additionally, an updated tungsten weight and a slightly wider sole ensure consistent flight in the short and mid irons, while making the long irons easy to launch and exceptionally forgiving. P·7CB irons have a constant CG that gives players confidence knowing that every single shot is going to leave the club in a predictable window with the right amount of spin for precision shot shaping.
Both P·770 and P·7CB irons are available for pre-order beginning July 31 and available at retail starting Sept. 6.

Nippon Shaft Introduces New N.S.PRO 750GH Neo Steel Shaft
CARLSBAD, CA – Nippon Shaft announced a new member to its family of super-light steel shafts designed to help golfers gain distance, accuracy and feel in their iron game, will be released this Fall in Europe and the Americas.
Nippon Shaft’s new N.S.PRO 750GH neo steel irons shafts are designed to help golfers, who use distance irons with larger head sizes, maximize distance with optimal spin, according to Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.
The 750GH neo is the third in a family of super-lightweight Nippon Shaft products, which include the N.S.PRO Zelos7 and the N.S.PRO 750GH. The 750GH neo was designed for the golfer who finds the Zelos7 to be “too soft” and the 750GH to be “too firm”.
“Nippon Shaft is very excited to add the N.S.PRO 750GH neo steel shafts to our family of super-light steel shafts,” Fukuda said. “Our goal always is to develop products that will bring more enjoyment to people who play the game. Adding the 750GH neo is just the latest product to do that.”
With the 750GH neo, Japan-based Nippon Shaft says that it has achieved an appropriate ball spin that stops on target even when matched with strong loft iron heads that tend to produce little or no spin. Also, a comparatively smaller-than-standard grip size helps promote sharper swings.
The shafts will be available from club fitters in late October and through our authorized online partners: The GolfWorks, Swing Science, Grips for Less and The Golf Club Trader.
More than 300 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour, Korn Ferry Tou, Japan Golf Tour, Japan LPGA and other major global tours use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy and trajectory.
Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands.
