Bettinardi Golf Launches New BB Series Putter For 2014
Tinley Park, IL- January 15, 2014- Bettinardi Golf, manufacturers of the highest quality milled putters that are made in the USA, announced today it is introducing their newest BB Series line of putters.
“The new Bettinardi BB Series incorporates the luxurious Satin Silver finish,” said Bob Bettinardi, President/CEO of Bettinardi Golf. “These five new models including three new counterbalance versions are sure to please even the most discriminate golfer.”
The recent anchored putter ban has prompted Bettinardi to explore other options in their traditional putter line. In addition to the 100% legal Kuchar Arm Lock Models, the counterbalance putters offer exceptional stability and even better forgiveness.
The BB1 and BB32 counterbalance putters are precision milled from Bettinardi’s Soft Carbon steel, and come in weighing 395 grams. “The main purpose of our counterbalance putters is to move the overall balance point of the club closer to the hands of the player. The weight is added by extending the shaft by 3 inches which adds 42 additional grams,” Bettinardi said. “We then increase the putter head by the same amount to total 395 grams, in essence countering the weight of the putter. This weighting technique boosts the club’s overall MOI (Moment of Inertia), so that it swings more constant and stable than ever.
In addition to adding counterbalance putters, Bettinardi unveiled a brand new MOI model called the BB55. This new putter, which is also available in counterbalance, is milled from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. “We purposefully engineered the BB55 to move the discretionary weight as rearward as possible, Bettinardi said. “We did that by the use of stainless steel weight plugs. By moving this discretionary weight, we greatly enhanced the playability and forgiveness of this putter.
The BB55 has a Champagne Bronze Anodized finish that helps diminish shine, three triple vertical sightlines, and a fly-milled, red anodized insert.
Price and Availability: The new BB Series has an MSRP of $299.99, and the counterbalance putters have an MSRP of $349.99. Standard length putters (33, 34, and 35 inches) and counterbalance putters (36-40 inches) are also available to be cut to order. The new line is available through Bettinardi authorized dealers, and via Bettinardi’s website at www.bettinardi.com.
Leupold® Makes New GX®-3i2, GX-4i2 Golf Rangefinders Easier And Faster To Use
BEAVERTON, Ore. – Leupold’s® new GX®-3i2 and GX-4i2 golf rangefinders offer enhanced technology that allows users to find pins and distances easier and faster than competitive laser or GPS devices. They can be seen at the company’s PGA Merchandise Show booth, #1201, starting January 22 in Orlando, Fla.
Both rangefinders feature upgraded PinHunter® 2 Laser Technology, which makes it easier for golfers to find and stay on the pin. In addition, heightened sensitivity of the rangefinders’ Prism Lock Technology™ enables golfers to get their distances faster when a course is outfitted with prisms.
“These new rangefinders build on the success of our GX-3i and GX-4i models with enhancements that can help golfers of all skill levels improve their scores and speed up pace of play,” said Rob Morrison, Leupold’s vice president of marketing. “With the boost in Prism Lock and PinHunter 2 Laser Technology, holding the rangefinder steady becomes less of a concern, and quick, exact distance measurement is assured.”
The GX-3i2 and GX-4i2 employ the same advanced technology that makes Leupold the optic of choice for many military applications that require pinpoint accuracy. Each model features high-performance DNA® (Digitally eNhanced Accuracy) engine technology and an advanced infrared laser for faster measurements with accuracy displayed to the nearest 1/10th of a yard. Expected ranging distance on trees is 700 yards.
PinHunter 2 Laser Technology effectively filters out large background objects and zeroes in on the flag or pin for extremely precise and fast target acquisition. When the rangefinder is in scan mode, Prism Lock Technology makes an audible beep upon identifying a high-intensity return from flagsticks equipped with specialized prisms (already used on many golf courses).
The tournament-legal GX-3i2 offers line-of-sight distance measurement only. It is compact, weighing just 7.8 ounces, and measuring only 3.8-inches long, 3.0-inches high and 1.4-inches wide. Only slightly larger in size, the GX-4i2 offers enhanced versatility with a removable Smart Key™ that adds the benefits of Leupold’s True Golf Range™ (TGR®) and Club Selector™ features. Without the Smart Key, use of GX-4i2 in tournaments is allowed under the Rules of Golf (Rule 14-3), according to a recent United States Golf Association ruling, when a Local Rule permitting the use of distance measuring devices is in effect.
When the Smart Key activates the TGR and Club Selector features, the GX-4i2 can provide accurate ranging information matched to the slope of the shot, atmospheric conditions and a golfer’s personal hitting strength. TGR allows golfers to compensate for uphill shots that play long and downhill shots that play short. Calculated from the laser-measured line-of-sight distance, incline or decline, trajectory of the ball, current temperature and specific altitude, TGR displays the adjusted “plays like” range. For example, a golfer has a lie of 150 yards from the pin but the green sits six degrees above the ball. Using advanced TGR algorithms to automatically account for each factor, the GX-4i2 indicates the shot should be played as if it were 164 yards.
When activated, Club Selector factors in the golfer’s specific hitting strength and TGR to the target, automatically recommending the proper club for each shot. The user simply inputs their personal striking distance for three specific clubs and the GX-4i2 does the rest, even indicating when the distance falls between clubs.
The GX-3i2 and GX-4i2 both offer fog mode, which enables the rangefinder to cut through mist and provide fast, accurate distance measurements. Both models have 6X magnification and offer a one-touch scan mode that allows users to sweep the landscape while continuously measuring distance. Golfers can select from three aiming reticles, choosing the one which works best for the intended target and usage. Distance can be displayed in yards or meters.
Additional features include multi-coated lenses for a crystal-clear image, an easy-to-read display and fold-down rubber eyecups. Each rangefinder is weatherproof and comes with a Cordura® case, battery, lanyard and complete instructions.
