Bushnell Golf Introduces Revolutionary Tour(R) Z6 Jolt Laser Rangefinder
Overland Park, KS, January 10, 2014 – Bushnell Outdoor Products, makers of the #1 laser rangefinder on the PGA Tour, today introduced its smallest, most technically advanced golf laser rangefinder – the Tour Z6 JOLT. With its ultra-compact size and increased power, the Tour Z6 JOLT has been engineered with new JOLT Technology and 2nd Generation E.S.P. (Extreme. Speed. Precision) technologies.
“At Bushnell, we continue to pride ourselves on offering advanced technologies to enhance our already industry-leading rangefinding products,” said Scott Peterson, Product Manager at Bushnell. “It is so important for golfers to get fast, precise yardages, and the Tour Z6 JOLT delivers this critical information to the golfer faster and more accurately than any other laser rangefinder.”
Continuing the trend of evolving precision through industry-leading technologies, Bushnell Golf is proud to introduce JOLT Technology in the new Tour Z6 JOLT. When the golfer aims the Tour Z6 JOLT at the flag, JOLT Technology will provide short vibrating bursts to reinforce that Bushnell’s advanced PinSeeker technology has isolated the target and locked onto the flag. The vibrating bursts provided by JOLT Technology will now eliminate any and all doubt and assure the golfer they have the exact distance to the flag.
Also new to the Tour Z6 JOLT is 2nd generation E.S.P (Extreme. Speed. Precision) Technology. 2nd Generation E.S.P. provides yardages five times faster and more accurately than ever before. Not only has the acquisition speed been increased to a lightning fast level, 2nd Generation E.S.P. provides 1Ž2 yard accuracy from 5-125 yards, and the distance is displayed to 1/10th of a yard. Having more accurate laser distances enables the golfer to strategize and hit every approach shot with confidence.
The ultra-compact Tour Z6 JOLT also features Vivid Display Technology. Created specifically for Bushnell’s premium rangefinders, this optical enhancement improves contrast, clarity and light transmission dramatically for enhanced use. The brightness of the digital readout information has also been increased, providing rapid and positive yardage acquisition in all lighting conditions. It is simply the best heads-up projection display on the market.
As with all Bushnell rangefinders, the Tour Z6 JOLT provides instantaneous measurements in yards and meters with incredible accuracy to any target on the course. The Tour Z6 JOLT boasts 5-1,300 yards ranging performance, including 450+ yards to the flag and is legal for tournament play (all Bushnell laser rangefinder models, except the Bushnell Pro X7 Slope and Bushnell Tour v3 Slope, are legal to use when USGA rule 14-3/.05 is in effect).

Marriott Golf Unveils Environmental Sustainability Performance Award (ESPA) Program As Benchmark For Environmental Stewardship Across Worldwide Golf Portfolio
ORLANDO, Fla. – January 9, 2014 – Marriott Golf, one of the world’s premier golf operators, today unveiled the Environmental Sustainability Performance Award Program (ESPA), an initiative that will serve as a benchmark for environmental stewardship across the Company’s worldwide golf portfolio. Highlighting the program, 60 Marriott golf courses at 44 resorts in 13 countries will be asked to complete the program criteria by the end of 2014, with each facility receiving an ESPA commendation signifying their commitment to environmental leadership.
The Marriott Golf ESPA Program is based on four key achievement criteria, including:
• Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses
• Water Conservation Strategy
o Each property will develop a written natural resources management plan specific to their golf course, which will identify best practices and key metrics for reducing irrigation water consumption.
o Completion of an Irrigation Audit by a Certified Golf Irrigation Auditor.
• Carbon Footprinting Plan
o Completion of Syngenta’s EcoMeasures Tool with a goal to reduce year-over-year carbon footprint.
• Marriott Golf Conservation Scorecard
o This is a newly developed exclusive evaluation of nearly 100 key conservation standards. A property will need to achieve a pre-determined percentage of the standards to complete this section, and an annual re-certification and update will be required.
Upon completion of these four criteria, each participating property will receive an ESPA commendation from Marriott Golf, designating it as a certified sustainable facility.
“This program is the next step in Marriott Golf’s Company-wide commitment to environmental sustainability,” said David H. Robinson, Senior Director of Golf Grounds, Marriott Golf. “We were the first resort golf operator to mandate every property in its portfolio to become a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Now, with the ESPA Program, we have further positioned Marriott Golf as the industry’s premier ‘green’ golf management organization, while reinforcing Marriott International’s worldwide commitment to environmental consciousness.”
Marriott Golf’s ESPA Program comes on the heels of the Company’s 2008 mandate for all properties to become Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries, which enabled each golf facility the ability to protect the environment by enhancing precious natural areas and wildlife habitats. In order to achieve Audubon Certification, which is endorsed by the United States Golf Association, a golf facility is required to demonstrate that it is maintaining the highest degree of environmental quality in many areas including Environmental Planning, Wildlife & Habitat Management, Outreach & Education, Chemical Use Reduction & Safety, Water Conservation, and Water Quality Management.
