Palmer, Nicklaus, Player commence 78th Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player – a group that has a combined 13 green jackets – began the proceedings at the Masters with the ceremonial first tee shots early Thursday, but as is the tradition there was nothing ceremonially between these three competitors.
“I think Jack outdrove me by a yard or two which isn’t too bad considering he used to outdrive me by 50 (yards),” Player laughed.

Moore wins Par 3 Contest, feels good about game
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ryan Moore doesn’t believe in jinxes.
Directly after posting a winning score of 6 under in the Par 3 Contest, he laughed away any notion that it could hamper his chances in the actual Masters Tournament – even though no player has ever pulled off the double-title in tournament history.
“No, of course not,” he said of that notion. “I think it’s a great thing to do.”
The truth is, it could have been better.
