Dunning Sportswear is about to become your new go-to apparel off the course and in the gym.
Introduction
Regular readers know that I love Dunning Golf. The style is timeless, the quality is unsurpassed, and it flat-out performs on the course. The only problem is that Dunning Golf doesn’t make clothes for the other parts of my life: hitting the gym and hanging out in casual settings. Enter Dunning Sportswear.
Style & Fit
As you would expect, the initial release from Dunning Sportswear sticks to the classics. The colors are black, navy, grey, and white, and the pieces – hoodies, sweats, and t-shirts – are meant to be staples of your everyday wardrobe. But, as Dunning is apt to do, they’ve taken these workhorse pieces and made them stylish. The cuts aren’t overly slim, but they are going to give you a more tailored, put-together look.
I wore the black hoody out with a friend recently, someone I’ve known for nearly twenty years. In all this time, I can count on one hand how many times he’s commented on my clothes, but the next day I got this text, “Where did you get that hoody you were wearing? Had a great streamlined yet comfortable look.” It’s nice when your friends write your reviews for you.
Performance
For those that don’t know, Ralph Dunning is not just a guy with a golf apparel line. He’s a competitive cyclist, he’s competed in multiple Ironman races, and he’s worked with companies who make technical cycling apparel. The man knows how to make high performance clothing, and that’s evident in Dunning Sportswear from the moment you get it in your hands.
The first thing I noticed when I picked up these pieces is the weight. The t-shirt and shorts have a little heft to them, and the hoodies are substantial without being bulky. Every piece is just right. Beyond that, the material feels great. It’s soft, stretchy, and it breathes. The material moves with you when you’re on the go, keeps you cool when you’re putting in work, but it has the weight to keep you warm when you step from the gym into a cool evening or head out for a morning jog.
Conclusion
Serious golfers know that what you wear on the course matters. If your apparel doesn’t perform, neither will you. The same is true in the gym. If you’re ready to take your workouts to a higher level in terms of performance and style, you need to check out Dunning Sportswear. And even if the gym is just an occasional destination, there’s no reason you can’t step up the style of your daily wear.
