The ProInfinity Putting Mat is a good purchase for those looking to improve their putting. High quality, versatile, and reasonably priced.
Introduction
If money was no object, we’d all have backyards the look like Dave Pelz’s. Unfortunately, very few of us have that kind of money or space, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to improve our short games in the comfort of our homes. The ProInfinity Putting Mat allows regular golfers to get meaningful putting practice without a taking over the backyard or bedroom.
Set-Up & Ease of Use
One of the best things about the ProInfinity Putting Mat is that it doesn’t require you to permanently commit space to its use. The mat can be stored or deployed quickly and easily. Importantly, it doesn’t take ages for the mat to lay flat after it has been rolled up – just unroll it, stretch it out, and brush it flat.
Effectiveness
Let’s start with the basics: the ProInfinity Putting Mat is a good, high quality mat. The ball rolls true, and there’s adequate length – 10 feet – to really improve your skills.
For most mats, that would be the end of the discussion. With the ProInfinity Putting Mat (PPM), it’s just the beginning. First, the PPM can simulate four different green speeds from 8 to 12.5. You can easily tell the difference from one speed to the next and pick the one that’s most similar to the greens you actually play. Next, the PPM comes with six foam wedges for creating any kind of break that you want. The mat also has markings to help with alignment and distance control. Finally, it shows a “ball trace” of the path your ball rolled on. This is a fantastic feature for helping you to both diagnose your putting problems and to set up the mat perfectly flat.
Finally, the book of training drills that comes with the PPM is one of the most important, definitely the most underrated, pieces of the kit. It offers numerous drills to keep your practice focused and competitive. The drills also higlight the different ways you can use the PPM.
All in all, whether used in conjunction with other putting aids or on its own, the ProInfinity Putting Mat is a highly effective training aid.
Longevity
So long as there is winter, there will be golfers in need of indoor practice options. Yes, you can putt on your carpet, but putting on the ProInfinity Putting Mat provides you with a better putting surface and more feedback.
I give the ProInfinity Putting Mat a strong longevity score because it’s easy to set up and small enough that you could simply leave it unrolled.
Value
At $109, the ProInfinity Putting Mat is average in terms of price for a training aid but lower than most other in-home putting mats. Given the quality of the mat, how easy it is to set up, and the additional training features, I think this is a good value.
Conclusion
If you want to keep the rust off your flat stick this winter, the ProInfinity Putting Mat is worth a look. It allows you to putt on a consistent, true surface, and has a number of features that can enhance your practice.
