New Callaway Super Hybrids Announced

CARLSBAD, CA – Callaway Golf today officially announced their new Super Hybrids, which are designed to deliver the power of a fairway wood in a hybrid. This new product offering will be available nationwide on November 1, 2019.

Below you will find the link to our media briefing page, including hi-res images, product summary sheets, pricing, and a video presentation with in-depth details on the technology and performance.

To get fairway wood-like distance, our world-class R&D team took a completely different approach, and it starts with the titanium construction. The High-Strength Titanium Face insert promotes fast, all-out ball speed and optimized spin and flight. Combined with our industry-leading Jailbreak Technology, the two internal bars stiffen the stronger all-titanium body, placing more impact load on the Face Insert for incredible ball speeds.

It’s a total distance machine, and with the stronger titanium construction we can precisely position the CG to create a hybrid with a consistent, penetrating launch. Using titanium throughout the body allows us to place a substantially higher volume of tungsten into the heel and toe for increased MOI and optimized ball flight.

Nippon Shaft to Introduce New Shaft Designed Specifically for Hybrid Clubs

CARLSBAD, CA – Nippon Shaft today officially introduced its new N.S.PRO MODUS³ Hybrid Graphite On Steel Technology, or simply N.S. PRO MODUS³ Hybrid, the first ever hybrid shaft made of steel and graphite designed to bring the best characteristics of both materials to hybrid clubs.

The new shaft provides users of hybrid clubs with the solid feel and tighter dispersion associated with steel along with the easier launch, greater distance, higher trajectory and vibration-dampening qualities of graphite, Fukuda said.

Nippon Shaft’s patented special adhesive enables the thin-walled, 70-gram steel shaft to adhere to an outer coating of multi-layered carbon (graphite) to create a shaft of ideal weight and flexibility, Fukuda said.

The bend profile of the shafts is based on the tour-validated N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 105, which is designed to promote an easy launch, mid-peak trajectory and spin.

The N.S. PRO MODUS³ Hybrid Graphite On Steel Technology will be released on October 25 and will retail for $250 per shaft, company officials said.

Arnold Palmer to Be Honored with U.S. Postal Stamp in 2020

WASHINGTON, DC – The United States Postal Service announced today that it will be recognizing Arnold Palmer with the issuance of a nationwide stamp as a part of its 2020 stamp program.

The U.S. Postal Service will honor Palmer for his positive impact and compelling story, rising from humble beginnings to become a globally revered champion. The U.S. Postal Service notes, “with drive and charisma, he helped transform a game once seen as a pastime for the elite into a sport enjoyed by the masses.”

The stamp features James Drake’s action photograph of Palmer at the 1964 U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.  Palmer’s name appears in the top left corner and the words “Forever” and “USA” are printed along the bottom of the left edge.  Art Director Antonio Alcala designed the stamp.

The Palmer stamp is being issued as a Forever stamp, meaning that it will always be equal in value to the current First Class Mail price. This is the first time Arnold Palmer has been honored with an official stamp. Fellow Latrobe, Pa., native Fred “Mister” Rogers was honored with a stamp in 2018.

The 27-year-old native Californian posted rounds of 69-67-66-70 for a 16-under par total of 272.  It was the third professional victory for the two-time U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, who also won the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. This season, she has eight other top 10 finishes.

The N.S. PRO 950GH is a shaft that hundreds of touring professionals stock in their bags on a week to week basis.

Introduced in the early 1990s, Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO 950GH was the first sub-100 gram steel shaft that was embraced by touring professionals and avid golfers seeking superior performance and feel.  The shaft remains popular today, according to company officials.
