COBRA Golf Launches Limited Edition Volition America RADSPEED Drivers to Benefit Folds of Honor

CARLSBAD, CA – Just in time to celebrate Memorial Day on the links, COBRA Golf is introducing a new addition to the Volition America Golf Collection, the Limited-Edition VOLITION RADSPEED and RADSPEED XB Drivers. A portion of the proceeds from this one-of-a-kind driver will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, supporting the families of American military heroes.

The new LE VOLITION RADSPEED Driver is designed in a patriotic Red, White, and Blue colorway with a stunning pearl white carbon crown and a blue PVD CNC Milled Infinity Face. A Project X HZRDUS Smoke RDX Blue shaft in an IP finish and custom black and red Lamkin Crossline CONNECT grip finish off the unique look that is sure to grab attention on the tee all year round. The LE Volition driver is offered in two models (RADSPEED & RADSPEED XB) to provide golfers with their choice in performance. The standard RADSPEED is offered in 9.0 degrees and features a traditional shape with front-biased weighting (28g total) and an 8g weight in the back to deliver the optimal combination of low spin, fast ball speed, and stability. The RADSPEED XB is offered in 10.5 degrees and features rear-biased weighting (20g total) with an 8g front weight to create a balance of speed and maximum forgiveness.

“COBRA PUMA GOLF has been an incredible partner from the start, and I’m thrilled to see the latest iteration of the RADSPEED driver, inspired by the stylings of the United States Airforce Thunderbirds — a clear representation of our shared commitment to build a community as we support the Folds of Honor Foundation,” says John Sapiente, Founder and CEO of Volition America. “While the styling and performance of this driver are incredible, we’re about more than just great products. Volition America is a collaboration of multiple premium brands with a collective mission to inspire a movement around The Power of Choice, and we’re proud to advance our initiative with this exciting release.”

Galvin Green Wins Global Sports Technology Award for ‘Sustainability in Sport’

VÄXJÖ, SWEDEN – Galvin Green, the leading high performance golf apparel brand based in southern Sweden, won the coveted ‘Sustainability in Sport’ title at the 2021 Sports Technology Awards ceremony in London yesterday ahead of an impressive shortlist of product innovators.

Viewed by a global audience of more than 700 sports tech experts and promoters on a sophisticated virtual platform, Galvin Green was recognised for its constant drive to push the boundaries of technical fabrics while maintaining the highest standards in environmental protection. In particular, the judges praised its range of INSULA™ sweaters made from recycled plastic bottles, which they described as: “an innovative product with a timely purpose…the data, clarity of vision and targeted approach all support a clear road map for the brand.”

Galvin Green was among 117 brands, 30 sports, 19 sports bodies, 10 broadcasters and nine tournaments to be shortlisted across 19 award categories. It faced strong competition for the ‘Sustainability in Sport’ title from the VITEC group, Ticketmaster Sport, Sun God sunglasses and fast-growing app platforms Fanbase and Paddle Logger.

In accepting the award, Marketing Manager Annelie Backgård Ginstman said: “This is a big result for Galvin Green and will help us gain even more recognition for our sustainable and environmentally friendly products across the global golf market.

“Galvin Green takes sustainability very seriously. We’ve developed a responsible mindset which is part of everything we do across all departments of the company. Sustainability is a constant work in progress for us, along with many of our suppliers. We believe the most responsible action we can take is to create sustainable, high quality products that last longer and the brand will always be synonymous with quality, long-lasting garments, “she added.

In its submission for the award, the brand stated that the pioneering DWIGHT half-zip sweater made from fabric derived 100% from recycled plastic bottles was also knitted at a high-tech factory in Italy using such a fine gauge yarn that it took 57,600 meters of yarn to produce a single sweater. Embracing body mapping technology, the highly breathable garment incorporates inserts of a woven polyamide fabric with micro padding inside to give extra warmth and protection for those parts of the body where golfers need it most.

Galvin Green recently published a 20-page Sustainability Report to illustrate its credentials in this important area entitled The Green Path to Performance. Founded over 30 years ago and renowned for its market-leading waterproofs, it sells clothing designed by golfers for golfers in more than 20 countries worldwide.
