Fripp Island Named Among the South’s Best by Southern Living

FRIPP ISLAND, SC – Fripp Island is one of the South’s Best, honored by Southern Living as one of the “Best Islands in South Carolina.”

The distinction is part of the South’s Best Awards 2024 which celebrates readers’ favorite Southern destinations and experiences. The publication also named Fripp Island to its list of “Prettiest Beach Towns” in the South earlier this month, one of only two South Carolina locations included.

“We are thrilled to see Fripp Island named as one of the best in the South,” said Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort Marketing Director Michelle Groves. “The entire Resort team is proud to be part of such a magical place and we look forward to welcoming you soon.”

Nestled just outside historic Beaufort, S.C., the Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is a premier island destination for families and friends. The resort is located within a gated community featuring more than three miles of uninterrupted coastline, 32 beach access walkways, two 18-hole golf courses, a 62-slip marina and numerous outdoor activities from kayaking to horseback riding.

Resort amenities include five pool complexes featuring seven pools, state-of-the-art tennis and pickleball courts, oceanfront dining options, live music venues, a full-service equestrian center where guests can camp with their horses, a nature center, and exceptional kids programming.

Fripp Island is a wildlife sanctuary, evidenced by its recognition as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. The pristine marshlands and tidal areas found throughout the island are home to more than 182 species of birds.
