Bob Vokey Introduces New 54°/56°D Grind to WedgeWorks

FAIRHAVEN, MA Based on the incredible popularity and player adoption of the Vokey SM7 D Grind – the latest addition to the Vokey grind family – Master Craftsman Bob Vokey has been experimenting with extending the D Grind into lower-lofted models.

The player’s high bounce wedge, the D Grind offers high measured bounce with the crescent shape of Voke’s popular M Grind for shot-making versatility.

Available today on Vokey.com, the new WedgeWorks 54.12 D and 56.12 D models align with Bob’s long-held philosophy of building a higher bounce sand wedge and mid-to-low bounce lob wedge into your setup.

Early tour testing indicates that the 54°/56°D Grind will soon end up in several bags on tour.

VOKEY D GRIND
The D grind provides high forward bounce for shots in the square position, while the crescent shape provides for versatility in the open position, allowing for a variety of shots and face angles for the player that uses their sand wedge greenside. It is ideal for players with a steeper angle of attack who play with a variety of clubface positions.

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
As part of WedgeWorks, the 54.12 D and 56.12 D wedges can be customized, including personalized stamping in up to 10 characters and one of 12 paintfill colors. Golfers can also choose from an industry-leading selection of shafts, grips, shaft bands and ferrules.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Vokey WedgeWorks 54.12 D and 56.12 D wedges are available in a Tour Chrome finish beginning June 5 through WedgeWorks on Vokey.com or by custom order, starting at $195 (which includes custom BV Wings grip, custom shaft band, and up to 10 character stamping).

Another dinner showcases Peninsula, a beachfront restaurant specializing in regional cuisine that highlights the bounty of Baja’s freshest seafood and finest local produce. Peninsula affords expansive views of the beach, sea and sky, as well as an a la carte dinner menu that includes a choice of three different ceviches and a variety of fish, poultry and meat entrees.

These include a Sauvignon Blanc from California, a Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot blend from Chihuahua, and three wines selected from the Guadalupe Valley, Mexico’s answer to Napa Valley.

The fourth dinner option offers a choice of customized experiences, such as a romantic dinner for two on the beach under the stars, which includes a tequila and mezcal tasting guided by the resort’s spirits sommelier.

Culinary Odyssey package guests also have access to more than a dozen other restaurants at the Pacifica, Sunset Beach and Montecristo (the resort hotels all within the Quivira Los Cabos property), as well as at either of the downtown resort locations, Pueblo Bonito Rose, or Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos.

True culinary aficionados will not want to miss The Market at Quivira, the gastronomic food hall at Sunset Beach, where guests sample a variety of cuisines, from Asian to Italian, or relax in an authentic American 1950s-style diner. The Market also offers healthy options (cold-pressed juices to vegan dishes) at Perfect Balance, a new wellness bar, while sports fans can gather at The After at Quivira, a classic American gastropub with comfort food, craft beers on draft, an array of specialty cocktails and nearly a dozen large-screen TVs.

Additional culinary options include an Orchard Cooking Class, where guests create a meal using herbs and other ingredients grown on site; and “Hook and Cook” (catch it by day, cook it by night). The Los Cabos Walking Culinary Tour invites guests to explore Cabo’s culinary hot spots and bars on a tour guided by their butler. adidas Golf Unveils First-Ever Golf Shoe Made From Upcycled Plastic Waste Intercepted From Beaches And Coastal Communities

CARLSBAD, CA – adidas is bringing eco-innovation to the golf course. Today, adidas Golf unveiled a limited-edition version of its popular TOUR360 XT made with yarns spun from upcycled plastic waste that was intercepted from beaches and coastal communities. The TOUR360 XT Parley  is made in partnership with environmental organization Parley for the Oceans  and is the first of its kind for the sport.

The unique ocean blue and aqua green colorway of this limited-edition TOUR360 XT Parley utilizes repurposed and upcycled plastic waste that’s then incorporated as raw material into the upper of the footwear. This thread, spun from the upcycled plastic waste, comprises the entire upper of the shoe.

adidas works with Parley for the Oceans  to intercept plastic waste which is then transformed into thread used to make high-performance sportswear. The TOUR360 XT Parley  is built on the TOUR360 XT eight-spike outsole with X-Traxion technology, so golfers will still experience superior traction and stability while knowing that as they walk the course they are helping protect the oceans.

The use of upcycled material falls in line with adidas’ overall strategy to use 100 percent recycled polyester in all apparel and footwear by 2024. By intercepting plastic waste on beaches and coastal communities, adidas is committed to the Parley A.I.R. strategy (Avoid, Intercept, Re-Design). While many other categories within adidas have created apparel and footwear utilizing upcycled plastic waste, this is the first in golf.

From a performance standpoint, the TOUR360 XT Parley  features a sock-like opening for optimal comfort while also offering full-length BOOST, the best cushioning in the game. The 360WRAP in the midfoot provides additional support and stability so that players can stay locked in throughout the swing. It also offers a one-year waterproof warranty.

The shoe will be available as supplies last at the merchandise area at the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach and on adidas.com beginning June 10 at 8 a.m. PT. Starting June 12, the shoe will be available at select retailers nationwide. Select adidas athletes competing in the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach will also be wearing the shoe throughout the week.
