Garmin Unveils the Approach Z30 Smart Laser Range Finder With
Unparalleled Integration to the Garmin Golf Lineup

OLATHE, KS – Garmin today announced the Approach® Z30 laser range finder, the latest addition to the Garmin golf ecosystem, helps golfers see the course in new ways. This innovative device offers excellent ranging performance and introduces the Range Relay feature, which sends ranged distances to a compatible Garmin smartwatch or the Garmin Golf smartphone app. Once the target has been locked in by the Approach Z30, the ranged distance and a laser range arc will display on the paired Garmin device to give players a visual indication of the pin position and everything in play around it.

Designed to provide golfers with even more situational awareness on the course, the Approach Z30 delivers fast and precise distance readings1 up to 400 yards away, gives players six times magnification through the viewfinder and vibrates once it locks in on the pin.

Elevate your game

Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy the on-course features to help them find more precise distances and have confidence that they’re selecting the correct club.

  • Key information: View distance from the pin and to the front and back of the green to help gauge how to play a shot2.
  • PlaysLike distance: See how far each shot should actually play with yardage adjusted for elevation changes. For an even greater level of accuracy, pair with a compatible device to receive PlaysLike distance that factors in air density, which affects how far a ball will travel.
  • Garmin golf ecosystem: Make the most of the Range Relay feature by pairing the Approach Z30 with the Garmin Golf App, or popular smartwatches including Approach S70, Approach S62, Approach S42, fēnix® 7 series, epix (Gen 2) series, MARQ® (Gen 2) collection and more.
  • Tournament mode: An external indicator light lets competitors know that the device is only providing data within the rules.
  • Magnetic mount: Conveniently store the range finder with an included magnetic mount when riding in a golf cart. It also comes with a handy carrying case with a carabiner, allowing it to hang from a golf bag if walking the course or after a round.
  • Find My Garmin: If the Approach Z30 is ever misplaced, players can utilize a feature through the Garmin Golf app to see its last known location.

Designed with all types of golf weather in mind, Approach Z30 is built with an IPX7 water rating, allowing it to withstand light to steady rain, wind and sunlight. The range finder also features a replaceable battery with exceptional life, providing players with up to a full year of use.

PING Offers G430 MAX 10K HL (High Launch) No-Cost Exchange Program

PHOENIX, AZ – PING announced today a program allowing owners of its G430 MAX 10K HL (High Launch) custom-built driver the option of exchanging it for the custom-built standard (“non-HL”) G430 MAX 10K at no cost. The offer is being made in the event any customers made a purchasing decision based upon the HL version having a combined MOI (moment of inertia) of 10,000 g-cm2.

“We realized some golfers may have concluded that the “HL” version of the G430 MAX 10K carried the same inertia values as the standard G430 MAX 10K,” said PING CEO & President John K. Solheim.

“Today, we’re clarifying that while the HL has an extremely high MOI and delivers the forgiveness and distance PING drivers are famous for, it doesn’t reach the combined 10K MOI threshold due to a lighter backweight which optimizes the fitting for slower swing speed players. For golfers who may have purchased the G430 MAX 10K HL with the expectation that it reached the 10K combined MOI, we’re offering them the opportunity to exchange their driver for the custom-built standard G430 MAX 10K at no cost.”

The “HL” (high launch) build combines a lighter backweight (silver in color and marked High Launch), shaft and grip to create a custom build aimed at slower swing speed golfers who can expect to swing faster with the lighter overall system, adding more speed to launch their shots higher and farther.

“We believe the vast majority of G430 MAX 10K HL owners are extremely satisfied with the performance of their drivers and we want to assure them their decision to put it in their bags was a good one,” said Solheim. “It’s important we stand behind our products in this way. If they purchased their driver based upon a misunderstanding of the club’s combined MOI value, we want to do the right thing and exceed their expectations.”

Golfers can exchange their G430 MAX 10K HL driver for a standard G430 MAX 10K with PING’s ALTA CB Black or no-upcharge aftermarket shafts in either 9°, 10.5° or 12°.
