Arccos Golf Introduces Arccos Caddie Link Wearable

STAMFORD, CT – Arccos – the pioneer of big data and artificial intelligence for golf – today announced the launch of Arccos Caddie Link, a small, ultralight wearable accessory that allows Arccos players to automatically capture their shot data without having to carry a smartphone on the course.

Compatible with iPhone and Android devices, Link (MSRP: $99.99) seamlessly pairs with the Arccos Caddie app and sensors. Worn on a player’s belt, waistband or pocket, Link tracks shots in real time – including the club used and precise location – and automatically transfers the data to a user’s smartphone via Bluetooth, either during or after the round. This allows golfers to play the game their way, with the choice of keeping their phone in a cart, bag, back pocket or elsewhere.

“The demand for this product is massive and its launch is an exceptional engineering achievement by the Arccos team,” said Steve Obsitnik, Arccos President and COO. “We’ve basically miniaturized a smartphone and removed the screen in order to serve the needs of current and prospective Arccos members who don’t want to carry a phone in their pocket or wear a watch. The added benefit is that any player using Arccos can also listen to music or take swing videos during their rounds.”

Weighing less than 25 grams and measuring approximately 2.25” (L) x 1.25” (W) x 0.75” (D), Link boasts a 10-hour battery life and quickly charges via a standard micro USB cable. Additional functionality of Link includes the ability for a player to mark the hole location by simply pushing a button while standing next to the pin.

Arccos Caddie Link units will begin shipping to consumers on July 15. Thousands of pre-orders will be fulfilled in the order received. Additional orders will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis exclusively at www.arccosgolf.com, with estimated delivery dates for new purchases updated on a rolling basis. Link is designed exclusively for use with second- and third-generation Arccos sensors, including all Cobra Golf and PING smart clubs, Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors and Arccos Caddie Smart Grips.

Golf’s first Artificial Intelligence platform, the Arccos Caddie app syncs with Arccos Caddie sensors to automatically track your shots while delivering smart distance club averages and advanced analytics. The system includes the world’s first A.I. powered GPS rangefinder and caddie advice for any hole on earth to help golfers of all skill levels make smarter decisions, improve faster and shoot lower scores. In 2019, the average Arccos Caddie user who played at least 5 rounds lowered their handicap by 4.2 strokes.

Big Cedar Lodge to Host Back-To-Back PGA Tour Champions Events in August

RIDGEDALE, MO – Some of the biggest and most legendary names in golf are returning to Big Cedar Lodge and the Ozarks next month.

PGA TOUR Champions and Big Cedar Lodge announced today two new events that will be contested as part of the Tour’s combined 2020-21 schedule. The Charles Schwab Series at Bass Pro Shops’ Big Cedar Lodge will feature back-to-back 54-hole tournaments played over a nine-day period in August, with each event carrying a $3 million purse and televised worldwide on The GOLF Channel.

The Charles Schwab Series at Buffalo Ridge will take place Aug. 19-21 at the Buffalo Ridge Course, with the Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National to follow on Aug. 24-26. Practice rounds for each event will be held the two days prior to competition.

The complete Charles Schwab Series schedule is as follows:

Aug. 17-18 – Practice rounds at Buffalo Ridge Course
Aug. 19-21 – Three-day tournament at Buffalo Ridge Course
Aug. 22-23 – Practice rounds at Ozarks National
Aug. 24-26 – Three-day tournament at Ozarks National

Buffalo Ridge was ranked the #1 course you can play Missouri in Golfweek’s “2019 Best” issue

The venues represent two of the five award-winning nature golf courses at Big Cedar Lodge, which has been considered “Home of the Legends” after previously hosting the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf from 2014 through 2019.

“This is our seventh year hosting the PGA TOUR Champions, and we are very happy to welcome these incredible players and friends back to Big Cedar Lodge,” said Johnny Morris, noted conservationist and founder of Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge. “We continue to take great pride in this special place and our continued enhancements, including the grand opening of Ozarks National last year and the debut of the full Payne’s Valley course later this year. We know the unique beauty of our courses leave a lasting impression, and we look forward to providing a challenging, memorable experience to all of the players while showcasing the beauty and wonder of the Ozarks with the world.”

Due to COVID-19 concerns, no spectators will be allowed on site during the events. Fans can follow the action worldwide by tuning-in to The GOLF Channel, which will provide extensive coverage throughout the tournament. Set to air in more than 340 million homes in 170 countries, the broadcast will showcase the unmatched natural beauty of the area while spotlighting Johnny Morris’ vision for creating breathtaking golf courses that connect people to nature.

Golf Digest selected Ozarks National as the Best New Public Course in the world last November in the publication’s annual rankings list and Buffalo Ridge was ranked the #1 course you can play in Missouri in Golfweek’s “2019 Best” issue. Additionally, last September Golf Magazine named Big Cedar Lodge as the No. 1 Family Golf Resort in North America, as part of its Top 100 Resorts issue for 2019-2020. Recognitions like these continue encouraging notable people and players to visit Big Cedar Lodge, including the likes of World Golf Hall of Famer Ben Crenshaw, who has visited and played the resort multiple times.

To provide a safe “bubble” for players, caddies and tournament staff, there will be temporary public closures throughout the tournament series. Buffalo Ridge will be closed from Aug. 16-21, the adjacent Mountain Top will be closed from Aug. 16-26, and Ozarks National and Payne’s Valley will be closed from Aug. 22-26.

V1 Sports Sees Record Number of Digital Golf Lessons in June

NOVI, MI – With golf participation surging across North America during coronavirus quarantining, there is little surprise that many golfers are finding ways to take lessons on their terms any time their schedules permit. V1 Sports (V1) reports a record number of digital lessons were given using the V1 Pro (for teaching pros) and V1 Golf (for golfers) mobile apps during the month of June. Last month’s digital lesson delivery on V1 Pro and V1 Golf was nearly 25 percent higher than V1’s five-year average for lessons given in June.

V1, producer of the industry-leading golf video swing analysis platform for teaching pros and golfers, is committed to helping avid golfers facilitate interactive lessons with pros during these unprecedented times. V1, who saw users surpass the four-million mark in online lessons earlier this year, recently made significant upgrades to its V1 Pro software and mobile platforms; including a sleek, efficient user interface, dynamic integration of V1 Pressure Mat data and the ability to record real-time tips and drills videos with audio using their live cameras and microphone.

V1’s system of interactive remote golf lessons is powered by easy-to-use tools for video swing capture and sharing as well as functions that help pros create detailed video lessons with voice-over instruction and visual feedback through telestration. From home, golfers can film and send their swings to the teaching pro of their choice and receive lessons and drills using the popular V1 Golf mobile app.

Through V1 Pro, instructors can utilize the built-in access to contact their database of students and engage with them personally. “Any pro on V1 Pro has the ability to turn remote lessons from a static menu item to a revenue-driving part of their business and I think a lot of teachers have realized that this platform is here to stay and fits with modern golfers’ lifestyles. Remote lessons eliminate so many of the scheduling conflicts and waiting times between lessons. It’s a powerful shift in the business model,” Thurm says.

AHEAD Launches Spring-Summer ’21 Apparel Collection

NEW BEDFORD, MA  — AHEAD is launching a limited Spring-Summer 2021 apparel lineup with new offerings designed to complement the Fall 2020 apparel collection.

Two new AHEAD men’s collections combine saleable stripes and mini-prints, in addition to novelty items and strong color pairings:

  • The Neptune/Buzz/True Navy grouping anchors in traditional navy while incorporating a more upbeat Neptune blue and a pop of vibrant yellow, appropriately named Buzz. The Aspen variegated stripe is a cornerstone piece of the grouping, incorporating all colors translated into a gorgeous stripe. The Cerveza print whimsically taps into the trend of mini prints that read as an all-over pattern. Apropos to its name, a closer inspection reveals various beer-themed items.
  • The Coral Reef/Carbon/True Navy men’s grouping is a fresh take on an Americana look and feel. A  wearable Coral is offset by Carbon and Navy and the Crawford stripe incorporates heathered versions of these colors. The Angler conversational print polo provides a fun, fishing-themed addition.

Accenting the two new collections are several new key essentials, including AHEAD’s best-selling Contender. The polo gets its luxurious hand from the poly/Tencel/Spandex heathered blend and is offered in Neptune, Buzz and Coral. AHEAD is well known for its casual wear, too, and the new Brookside French terry pullover of 90 percent cotton-10 percent polyester comes in five colors. “It’s casual enough to wear to a game,” Stone said, “but also perfect for the clubhouse.”

A key new outerwear item, with a poly/Spandex blend, is the Delta lightweight full zip. Perfect for on and off course, this full zip complements the color groupings. While today’s wardrobes are largely from the “keyboard up,” Stone says that the new Fleming shorts are “perfect for those days when you can slip out of the office and hit the links.” A poly/cotton/Spandex lightweight blend, featuring a 10-inch inseam, gives this Carbon-colored short a polished look without sacrificing comfort.

The Kate Lord women’s line debuts a striking new color combination — Passion Limelight & White. The collection ushers in two new polo styles (Quinn and Aubrey), two new sleeveless shirts (Sophia and Raymer), two skorts (Quintessential and Savannah), and a fashionable new outwear garment (Juliana).

Broholm added that a new polyester-Spandex sun protection piece, the Idalia, is being introduced for Spring-Summer. Lightweight and breathable, with mesh underarms and UPF 50+, the Idalia comes in three prints and will be a must-have item to pair with the new collection. The Loveland polyester camo full-zip hoodie also will make its stylish debut, in both Blush and Fog colors.

AHEAD’s new online presentation allows customers to view both men’s and women’s lines virtually with their rep or at their leisure. To access the digital presentation, visit your personal My Ahead Page or contact a sales representative.
