New Galvin Green Apollo Jacket Breaks The Mould

VÄXJÖ, SWEDEN – The new APOLLO waterproof jacket that headlines the Galvin Green 2020 Part One collection is the first model made in GORE-TEX Paclite® Technology fabric to incorporate front pockets – making it even more versatile for serious golfers to wear both on and off the course.

The creation of lighter stretch fabrics has made it easier for Galvin Green to design a jacket that ticks the boxes for the golfer keen to avoid any restrictions when wearing a 100% waterproof top. The latest lightweight fabric stretches in different directions during the swing, so you don’t notice the two discrete pockets, although they’re there when needed.

The APOLLO jacket has taken two years to develop – six months longer than the usual progression of garments from drawing board to delivery – as various designs were tested to determine the one that ensured the addition of pockets wouldn’t interfere with the player’s swing. It weighs just 300g, with the extra pockets adding only 25g to its overall weight.

Easy to pack into the golf bag, the APOLLO jacket is extremely breathable and has a super-soft hand feel. Shaped sleeves provide easy movement and cuffs feature partial elastic and a tab with a touch and close Velcro fastener. Adjustable chest width tabs and an elasticated drawstring at the hem deliver a comfortable fit.

Sales of the waterproof Shell Layer range from Galvin Green are now headed by jackets made in GORE-TEX Paclite® Technology fabric, including the increasingly popular half-zip versions. They each feature fabric sourced from certified Bluesign® suppliers who meet global sustainability standards.

The APOLLO jacket in GORE-TEX Paclite® stretch fabric comes in six stunning colourway choices – four sporty 4-colour combos and two solid colour options – in sizes S-3XL.

Titleist Introduces New T400 Irons for Easy Launch, Super Distance

AIRHAVEN, MA – The new easy-launching, super distance Titleist T400 irons are designed to provide moderate swing speed golfers with the most forgiving Titleist experience possible.

The new Titleist T400 irons utilize an advanced split sole design, super-thin face and wide body, hollow head construction fortified by extreme amounts of high-density tungsten to help golfers effortlessly launch it higher and hit it farther.

The addition of T400 to the strikingly new line of Titleist T-Series irons – joining the T100, T100•S, T200 and T300 models – ensures that every player is able to experience the engineering ingenuity and breakthrough performance that has made Titleist the longstanding #1 iron on the PGA Tour.

T400 PERFORMANCE & TECHNOLOGY
Designed to help moderate swing speed players score lower, the new T400 irons maximize performance on every shot through the following key technologies:

  • Wide body shape with advanced Split Sole design provides optimal turf interaction for a smooth and easy strike.
  • Hollow head construction produces an extremely high MOI that maximizes forgiveness on off center shots.
  • Extreme High-density tungsten weighting (up to 100g per head) creates a low CG, working in combination with a super-thin forged SUP-10 L-Face Insert (5-7 irons) to produce explosive launch off the turf.
  • Progressive set design – with progressive blade lengths, sole widths and hosel lengths – delivers optimal CG positioning with preferred shaping through the set.
  • Lightweight materials – with stock grip and shaft options – promote increased swing speeds for longer distance.

FREE TRIAL & FITTINGS
Beginning Feb. 27, golfers can experience the performance of T400 irons by attending a Titleist Fitting and Trial event (including Titleist Thursdays), being held at hundreds of locations nationwide. To find an event, or book a free T-Series iron fitting with a Titleist Product Specialist, golfers can visit  https://www.titleist.com/fitting/appointments.

LIGHTWEIGHT STOCK SHAFTS & GRIP
T400 offers premium lightweight graphite and steel aftermarket options to help moderate swing speed players maximize performance. The Mitsubishi Fubuki MV IR – MV stands for “Maximum Velocity” – produces higher ball speed through its ultra-lightweight iron-specific graphite design. The steel True Temper AMT Red offers tour-proven ascending mass technology, with lighter long iron shafts for increased launch and speed and heavier short iron shafts for control.

  • Graphite: Mitsubishi Fubuki MV IR | Mid-High launch, mid spin | 50g
  • Steel: True Temper AMT Red | High launch, mid-high spin | 95-107g (3g per club)

In addition, Titleist offers an industry-leading number of custom shaft choices, many at no upcharge.

T400’s 43-gram stock grip, the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Lite+, weighs in 9 grams lighter than the T-Series stock Tour Velvet 360 model.

Bridgestone Launches VFIT Giving Golfers the Ability to Find the Right Ball for Their Game Anywhere, Anytime

COVINGTON, GA – Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball Fitter in Golf, officially launched today its innovative, new VFIT video ball fitting service, providing consumers with the ability to receive an expert person-to-person golf ball analysis anytime, anywhere.  VFIT, which has undergone extensive Beta Testing since October of last year, is officially debuting in its go-to-market form at this week’s 2020 PGA Merchandise Show.  Excitingly, Beta Testing proved that VFIT has a 98% accuracy rate, matching golfers into the same ball live fitting does in greater than 9 out of every 10 swing analyses conducted.

In 2006, Bridgestone disrupted the golf ball category with the introduction of Ball Fitting, empowering consumers to make a more educated decision about which ball to play, based on personal performance data.  Bridgestone’s new VFIT service builds on that heritage by giving more players access to Bridgestone’s ball fitting experts than ever before.  It allows players to be fit for the golf ball best suited to their swings by using their smart phone.  By following simple set-up instructions provided by Bridgestone, any golfer can record, submit and get fit.  Using a cellphone video camera to record a “swing video” in slow motion, the video can then be uploaded to Bridgestone’s ball fitting technicians for a detailed analysis of what ball is right for them.   Within 24 hours, each golfer will receive a ball fitting report by email, detailing their launch conditions (swing speed, ball velocity, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance and total distance) and providing an analysis of what ball fits them best.

VFIT is free, easy-to-use and ensures that nearly every one of the 24 million golfers in the United States has the opportunity to receive two pieces of information critical to improving their games – a detailed analysis of swing data and a golf ball that corresponds to those results.
