Bridgestone’s New Tour B Packs Input of Tiger Woods and Bryson Dechambeau Into Impressive New Golf Ball Models
COVINGTON, GA – Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, introduced today its next-level 2022 TOUR B golf ball series, featuring the most advanced iteration of Contact Science to date. Designed to deliver unparalleled distance and greenside control, the new TOUR B golf balls feature the new REACTIV iQ® cover. The 2022 TOUR B family comes in 4 distinct models, TOUR B RX and TOUR B RXS (for swings under 105 mph), and TOUR B X and TOUR B XS (for swings over 105 mph).
The new REACTIV iQ cover utilizes impact modifiers and builds on a technology under development for years, which was inspired by Bridgestone staffer Tiger Woods. REACTIV iQ is a smart cover technology that reacts to the force of impact for the needs of each club and shot, solving the trade-off of spin vs. distance. Off the tee it rebounds quickly, delivering explosive velocity and increased distance. Around the green the ball stays on the face longer providing more spin and soft feel. Optimizing the formula of REACTIV iQ, the impact modifier recipe has been maximized for each ball, to deliver customized performance for all four TOUR B’s.
The input from both Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau contributed to technology that is used on all four TOUR B models. Tiger, who has been playing a Bridgestone golf ball for over 20 years, prefers the XS for its feel and control around the greens.
Bryson, who plays the TOUR B X because of its ball speed, challenged Bridgestone’s engineers to push the performance limits once again as they have done so many times before.
Of course, REACTIV IQ doesn’t just optimize the performance of models aimed at players with swing speeds over 105 mph, but also maximizes the combination of spin and distance for those at 105 mph or below. For example, Lexi Thompson fits into the TOUR B RX, and Fred Couples will game the new TOUR B RXS. The fact that Bryson, Tiger, Lexi, and Fred, as well as a wide variety of recreational players, can all find a TOUR B model that fits their game validates the depth of Bridgestone’s new lineup.
“Over the last couple of years, the ball category has seen tremendous growth,” said Dan Murphy, President and CEO of Bridgestone Golf. “And we are excited that our market share has outpaced the surging market. The reason for that is we are part of the #1 rubber company in the world and we leverage Bridgestone engineering and technology in a way that no-one else can. Simply put we make the most advanced and highest quality golf balls on earth.”
The Bridgestone TOUR B family of balls will hit retail in February, 2022, and feature a street price of $49.99 per dozen. Fit For All – adidas Tour360 22 Introduces New Era Of Fit And Traction
CARLSBAD, CA – 17 years ago, we introduced the TOUR360 to the world. At the time, we purposefully took a lot of risks when it came to design because we wanted to challenge conventional thinking on what a premium performance shoe could represent. That first model ushered-in an era for what has now become our flagship footwear franchise worn by major champions and amateurs all around the world. Today we’re introducing the next chapter: TOUR360 22.
After nearly two decades of building upon and improving that original model of the TOUR360, we went back to the beginning; adopting that same mindset of taking risks that ultimately drove the creation for that first model. With the TOUR360 22, our primary focus was to re-examine how we addressed two critical areas that are important for golfers of all skill levels: fit and traction.
To get there, we looked at historical models of the TOUR360 as well as our own brand archives from other categories for inspiration. We landed on a recipe of key features that makes this our best-performing TOUR360 to date. From the ground up, the TOUR360 22 sits on our Feet You Wear™ last, serving as the foundation for our NEW TOUR360 FIT, while our new direct-injected SPIKEMORE traction system will help golfers stay locked-in and increase confidence with every swing. It’s the first time in golf that we’ve included these features.
With so much lateral movement and weight transfer in the golf swing, we were intrigued with the use-cases that our brand’s Feet You Wear last had to offer. We first introduced Feet You Wear in 1996. The design mimics the natural shape of the foot, ultimately helping to create a better connection with the ground and accommodate the natural movements of the foot in all directions. Knowing how important the ground is in the golf swing, an added benefit of using the Feet You Wear last helps golfers utilize this connection with the ground to generate power more easily in the swing. The design truly hugs and cradles the natural contours of the foot to optimize performance.
The Feet You Wear last is just one component of our NEW TOUR360 FIT that we’re introducing with TOUR360 22. The NEW TOUR360 FIT includes:
- DUALSTACK Midsole – We combined the comfort of our full-length BOOST cushioning with an EVA stability frame. This EVA stability frame is a horseshoe-shaped piece that surrounds our full-length BOOST with EVA chassis, strategically placed on the perimeter of the forefoot to provide golfers with lightweight stability, comfort and performance. It’s our most technical and advanced midsole that we have ever offered. The benefits are not easily seen, but certainly felt.
- GEOFIT Collar Pad – Designed to enhance the fit and feel on the top of the foot, this piece gently conforms to the individual to provide a more personalized and comfortable fit.
- 3D TORSION™ SYSTEM – Targeted stability in the midfoot, this mold plate enhances the connection with the ground while also helping to stabilize footwork throughout the swing.
- INSITE Sockliner – Working in tandem with the Feet You Wear last, this sockliner cradles the contours of the foot, especially in the heel, to provide enhanced cushioning, comfort, and support.
We didn’t stop there. We’re introducing our latest iteration of SPIKEMORE with the TOUR360 22 that features cleats directly injected onto the TPU base. We found that by injecting the cleats, we could provide more precise locations that would allow us to adjust density, make the inside and outside arm shapes unique and adjust the size depending on where the cleat sits on the outsole. Each cleat also includes a center cone, which helps to improve overall grip. While larger than our spikes of the past, this new configuration and variance in size helps to disperse weight and promote increased green friendliness.
As part of our effort to improve fit, we collaborated with the team at BOA® Technology to elevate both the fit and performance for the BOA models of the TOUR360 22. We worked with their team at the BOA Fit Performance Lab to find a way to optimize both fit and function. The PerformFit Wrap™ system we created consists of two overlapping panels that pull down over the top of the instep. The BOA Fit System, featuring the micro-adjustable Li2 dial wraps around the heel, locking the foot into place while providing customized fit. The BOA model also features a sockfit construction, designed to give golfers ultimate support, stability, and confidence.

PXG Releases Stunning All-New, 100% Milled 0311 Sugar Daddy II Wedges
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – PXG, an international research and development company dedicated to creating the world’s finest golf equipment and apparel, has introduced its 0311 Sugar Daddy II Wedges. A striking example of precision engineering, the 100% milled wedges are artfully designed to deliver outstanding workability and control from any lie.
Just ask Hudson Swafford, PXG PGA TOUR Professional, who recorded his first win of 2022 at The American Express days after putting the new wedges to his bag. Swafford shared, “I added PXG Sugar Daddy II 46- and 56-degree wedges to my bag at the American Express. The added bounce matches my patterns and helps me flight it a whole lot better. Also, they don’t dig as much. With my first win of year on the books the same week as putting them in, I think it’s fair to say, Sugar Daddy IIs are in to stay.”
PXG Sugar Daddy II Wedges present golfers with two versatile sole designs, the BP-Grind (13) and C-Grind (10). Optimal for lush turf conditions and sand, the BP-Grind features a wide sole and slight taper from heel to toe, offering more bounce. Designed to perform in firm turf conditions, the C-Grind presents a narrow sole and aggressive taper from heel to toe, offering a moderate bounce. Both sole designs are available in every loft across the PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy II Wedge lineup – 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, and 62-degrees.
Precision Milled Grooves are designed at the USGA limit to support extreme shot-making, while new Full Face Groove technology expands the hitting area for shots played toward the toe side of the face. The expanded groove length helps golfers land it soft and ensures more consistent results on impacts all across the face.
High Toe Weighting creates a high moment-of-inertia (MOI) and helps position the center-of-gravity (CG) more in-line with open face shots for enhanced consistency, while new Precision Weighting Technology introduces swing weight adjustability to the PXG Wedge fitting experience. A large weight located near the CG enables golfers to achieve fine-tuned performance through various head weight configurations.
PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy II Wedges are triple forged from 8620 soft carbon steel and then CNC Milled to their final form. The innovative process ensures every geometry is produced to exacting specifications for consistent performance today – and when golfers are ready to refresh their set.
PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy II Wedges are available for purchase on February 1, 2022 and are offered in both Chrome and PXG’s stunning Xtreme Dark finish.
