New Biting Rail Milled Finish Grooves Optimize Spin and Control Greenside
COVINGTON, GA – Bridgestone Golf – the #1 ball-fitter in golf, revealed today its new TOUR B XW-1 collection of wedges, its softest and highest spinning wedges ever designed for better players. The XW-1 Wedges feature Bridgestone’s proprietary, new Biting Rail Milled grooves leading to more spin on approach and greenside recovery shots. Premium forged from 1020 mild carbon steel, the XW-1 Wedges provide the ultimate in soft feel better players prefer.
The new TOUR B XW-1 Wedge series is designed with three separate sole configurations, each intended to optimize the types of shots played with that particular club. The F (Flat) sole is found in the 50-degree gap wedge, and intended to optimize turf interaction on full or mid-range approach shots providing added stability at impact for a more penetrating ball flight. The M Sole, or the “Multi-Purpose Sole” characteristic of the 52, 54, 58 and 60-degree wedges, focuses on providing versatility for all the varying shots one would hit during a round. From hooded bump-and-runs to open-flange flop shots, the M-Sole delivers maximum controllability. Finally, the A Sole, or the “Forgiving Sole” offers supreme forgiveness in the 56-degree wedge, whether you’re hitting an explosion shot to get out of a steep face bunker, or pin-hunting from the fairway.
The XW-1 wedges are available in right-hand only with a satin chrome finish and come stock with a Modus Tour 105 stiff shaft. The TOUR B XW-1 wedges will be available through Bridgestone Golf’s proprietary equipment demo program, Test Drive, and all Club Champion retail locations.

adidas Golf Introduces New Tour360 Franchise, Featuring First-Ever Spikeless Model
CARLSBAD, CA – adidas is taking performance golf footwear to the next level. Today, adidas Golf announced the TOUR360 XT, the newest model of the TOUR360 franchise that features the highest-performing cleated outsole the brand has ever made. As part of the release, the brand also introduces the new TOUR360 XT SL, the first-ever spikeless version of the TOUR360 in the history of the iconic shoe. The spikeless model will also come in a BOA version, the TOUR360 XT SL BOA.
The new footwear earns its name due to the X-shaped traction system (X-Traxion) on the outsole, providing multi-directional grip throughout the swing. Changing the definition of what a performance golf shoe can be, the TOUR360 XT SL is the first highly technical spikeless TOUR360 that adidas has ever made. As most players want a shoe that’s extremely comfortable, yet still provides the stability and traction needed for the golf swing, the TOUR360 XT SL is the answer. The entire outsole features the X-Traxion lug system, strategically placed so players get the comfort of spikeless while still maintaining the grip they expect from a high-performance shoe. The X-shape lugs also vary in height, allowing for some lugs to go deeper into the ground, which adidas found to help increase overall traction. The shoe is also highlighted by the X-Torsion system through the midfoot to provide more stability and control throughout the swing. The X-Torsion system features an X-shape, connecting the heel and forefoot, which is visible through the TPU outsole. Players will appreciate full-length BOOST in the midsole, providing unparalleled energy return and even more comfort throughout the round.
The TOUR360 XT is completely redesigned. One of the key features is the new TPU outsole. adidas implemented a new eight-spike execution in combination with the X-Traxion secondary lugs for additional grip and stability. By removing two spikes from the previous model, adidas increased flexibility and comfort while decreasing overall weight, benefits all golfers are looking for. BOOST, the best cushioning in the game, has also been re-engineered from heel to toe. BOOST pieces in the heel and forefoot are now slightly wider and move through larger expansion holes on the bottom to improve both stability and comfort. The new BOOST cushioning has a lower-profile execution for improved aesthetics while also giving players a better feel with the ground. Underneath the 3-Stripes in the TOUR360 XT, adidas implemented the new forging technique by heating that portion of the upper to increase stability in the midfoot while also reducing overall weight of the shoe. It features a rich premium leather upper that comes with a two-year waterproof warranty. It will be available in four colorways.
The TOUR360 XT SL BOA features all the benefits of the TOUR360 XT SL, but is highlighted by the L6 BOA® closure system on the tongue for easy customizable micro-adjustability. A new INSITE® sockliner (featured in all three models) also improves stability and balance by cupping the heel, which helps promote better posture. The TOUR360 XT SL BOA comes with a premium microfiber leather upper and a one-year waterproof warranty. It will be available in two colorways.
The TOUR360 XT and TOUR360 XT SL come in both medium and wide options while the TOUR360 XT BOA comes in a medium-wide fit. All three models are offered on a brand new last which has improved aesthetics, more forefoot width and a slightly lower ceiling.
