TaylorMade Golf Announces All-New Spider GTX and Spider GT Max Putters
CARLSBAD, CA – TaylorMade Golf is proud to unveil its 2023 Spider lineup, featuring the all-new Spider GTX and Spider GT Max putters. Spider GTX combines the best features of our iconic Spider Tour and Spider X models while bringing a full array of color options. While Spider GT Max introduces a new level of adjustability and performance to the storied franchise.
SPIDER GTX
With Spider GTX, from classic shades like white, silver and black to bold hues like red, ice blue and pink, there is a color option to suit every player’s style and preference.
Key features of Spider GTX include proven technologies such as True Path™ Alignment, which allows for easy and precise alignment to the target, and PureRoll² for a consistent end-over-end roll. It includes a deep center of gravity created by a heavy 154g stability bar at the rear of the putter – which equates to 45% of the putter’s total weight.
Spider GTX is designed to encourage a stable putting motion while helping the putter face resist twisting at impact. Due to the heavy concentration of mass at the rear of the club, Spider GTX ranks among the most forgiving Spider putters of all time with MOI above 5300.
It features a distinctive wing structure, an aesthetic hallmark of the Spider family. Fluid lines and sharp angles blend seamlessly to create a visually striking frame that perfectly cradles the golf ball at address.
The multi-material construction features a 100-percent CNC milled body made from 6106 aluminum, which allowed engineers to utilize an anodized PVD coloration process to deliver a premium look with improved durability in the form of scratch, chip and wear resistance.

SPIDER GT MAX: A NEW LEVEL OF ADJUSTABILITY
Spider GT Max features two 40g sliding tungsten weights that can be easily positioned to influence CG, toe hang and face rotation. This design allows us to cover the CG ranges of nearly all preceding mallet-style Spiders while simultaneously helping to minimize mis-hit tendencies for specific putting strokes.
For players who tend to miss putts to the left, placing the weights in Position 1 (farthest back) slows down the face rotation. For players who miss to the right, Position 3 (farthest forward) helps the face close faster. If you don’t have a consistent miss and are looking for versatility, Position 2 offers a neutral option. Spider GT Max is designed to let golfers adapt the putter to fit their stroke and improve accuracy on the greens.
To confirm our theory, we conducted player testing with dozens of golfers to see if the adjustability of Spider GT Max would translate to performance changes on the green. We collected data on hundreds of putts, with the weights in different positions, and found statistical variance in the face angle at impact between the rear and front weight positions. With the weights forward, players consistently had a more closed face angle at impact, and vice versa when the weights were in the back.
Spider GT Max comes in a silver anodized finish with TaylorMade’s renowned True Path™ technology. The lightweight, fully machined aluminum body gives the putter a premium look from address with much better durability than painted putter heads. The steel sole plate and sliding tungsten weights are finished with a durable black PVD finish. Spider GT Max is offered in two hosel configurations (short slant and single bend), allowing golfers to choose offsets and toe hangs to suit their stroke.

Mizuno Introduces the Cortech Chamber
HILLSBORO, MO – After four years of rapid-fire development, Mizuno’s Speed Technology (ST) Metalwood Project has culminated in the ST-230 series and a new energy source – the CORTECH Chamber.
Over a four-year development process, including blanket usage by Mizuno’s contracted professionals, Mizuno has lifted its metal woods from the shadow of its iconic irons. The ST-190 driver initiated Mizuno’s ST (Speed Technology) project, the ST-200 then added the Beta Ti face and was Mizuno’s first “Tour Ready” driver. The ST-Z and ST-X then added versatility with the option of two models. The ST220 Series represented a big shift in stability and ball speeds from off-centre strikes.
After multiple iterative developments for stability, sound and spin, Mizuno has identified the missing piece to its ball speed equation with the CORTECH Chamber – in its ST-230 Series due for 2023 release. The CORTECH Chamber encases a stainless-steel weight with elastomeric TPU, taking stress from the clubface and creating an additional source of energy. At the same time, it locates weight closer to the clubface to reduce spin rates, while contributing to a more solid, powerful sensation at impact.
Since 2020 all of Mizuno’s contracted professionals have played and aided in the development of the driver. Maintaining a consistent look at address, while incrementally elevating performance has built trust in Mizuno drivers amongst elite players – from college to the PGA Tour.
The new CORTECH Chamber features in 3 new ST-230 drivers, the ST-Z fairway and hybrid.
ST-Z 230 Driver
STRAIGHT, STABLE AND LOW SPINNING
A straight bias driver with great stability from off centre hits that’s similar in look and character to the previous ST-Z. The Forged SAT 2041 Beta Ti face is boosted by the CORTECH Chamber to be faster from the face, spin less and deliver an incredible, solid sensation at impact, while the carbon sole plate is now a single piece to allow weight to be pushed to the extremes for overall stability. It offers a modern players’ profile and Quick Switch hosel with 4 degrees of adjustability.
ST-X 230 Driver
MORE WORKABLE, MILD DRAW-BIASED
A more rounded, deeper profile with weight located closer to the hosel means it’s slightly higher spinning and draw biased for the majority. But it’s also more workable for many elite players (especially in lower lofts). Natural drawers of the ball may find more ball speed from the ST-X. The Forged SAT 2041 Beta Ti face is boosted by the CORTECH Chamber to be faster from the face, spin less and deliver an incredible, solid sensation at impact, while the carbon sole plate is now a single piece to allow weight to be pushed to the extremes for overall stability. The deeper profile aligns square in the neutral settings and the Quick Switch hosel offers 4 degrees of workability.
ST-X PLTNM 230 Driver
ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT FOR SLOWER SWING SPEEDS
A high launching, super lightweight draw biased driver – ideal for slower and moderate swing speeds. The ST-X PLTNM is 30g lighter overall than any possible custom option of the ST-X 230, with a high spec Helium Platinum Shaft and lightweight grip. The Forged SAT 2041 Beta Ti face is boosted by the CORTECH Chamber to be faster from the face, spin less and deliver an incredible, solid sensation at impact, while the carbon sole plate is now a single piece to allow weight to be pushed to the extremes for overall stability. Weight is located closer to the shaft axis to create draw bias and the Quick Switch hosel offers 4 degrees of adjustability.
ST-Z 230 Fairway Wood
STRAIGHT, STABLE AND HIGH LAUNCHING
A mid-low spinning, high launching, adjustable fairway wood. Although it was developed hand in hand with Mizuno’s tour advisors, it’s mid-sized and playable for all levels. Utilizing a high energy MAS1C steel face boosted by Mizuno’s CORTECH Chamber, it delivers exceptional ball speeds and powerful, solid sensation at impact. The carbon composite crown offers a low centre of gravity and stability while the expanded front to back weighting delivers consistent launch characteristics. The Quick Switch hosel offers 4 degrees of adjustability.
ST-Z 230 Hybrid
STRAIGHT, STABLE AND HIGH LAUNCHING
A mid-low spinning, high launching, adjustable hybrid. Although it was developed hand in hand with Mizuno’s tour advisors, it’s playable for all levels. Utilizing a high energy MAS1C steel face boosted by Mizuno’s CORTECH Chamber, it delivers exceptional ball speeds and powerful, solid sensation at impact. It has a slightly larger, more playable footprint than its predecessor the CLK with waffle crown and thick sole weight engineered to create a low sweet spot and deep centre of gravity for high launch and efficient spin rates.
The ST230 Series of drivers and metal woods will be available from February.
Engineered for Spin – Mizuno’s New S23 Wedges Showcase Centralised Sweet Spot for Exceptional Control
HILLSBORO, MO – Comprehensively engineered for extreme backspin, Mizuno’s S23 wedges combine the precision and playing profile of a player’s bladed wedge with the aggressive performance of a toe-weighted design.
Japanese manufacturer Mizuno is constantly striving to offer the best products to customers, blending classic design with the latest in technical innovation. The S23 wedges provide a perfect demonstration of that fusion.
The S23 wedges showcase a shorter hosel and a heel-orientated cavity allowing greater mass to be pushed towards the toe. This creates a centred sweet spot, as opposed to a heel-side location in conventional wedges. The centred sweet spot contributes to longer impact time, less head deflection and higher spin from both full and partial shots. And all those benefits are delivered with the unmistakable feel of a Mizuno one-piece Grain Flow Forging.
S23 wedges are One-piece Grain Flow Forged HD at Mizuno’s iconic facility in Hiroshima Japan – where Mizuno irons have been produced since 1968. They have a Tour-ready design with a player’s preferred, versatile look at address. But, with weight pushed to the toe, a partial heel cavity and short hosel they offer a centralised sweet spot delivering a more consistent strike and reliable high-spin numbers.
The wedges offer a loft-specific profile with stronger lofts featuring a tear-drop straight edge, flowing into a more rounded lob wedge, with grinds to suit throughout.
The precise grooves in the S23 wedges are quad cut milled and loft specific, cut into Boron infused 1025 mild carbon steel for a longer effective lifespan. In addition, Mizuno’s HydroFlow Micro Grooves are laser etched to release moisture and reduce spin drop off in wet conditions.
The S23 wedges come in either a white satin brush chrome or copper cobalt finish to suit individual visual preferences.
Mizuno’s S23 wedges will be available at retail from February 2023.
