Wilson Launches New Triad and Duo Soft Golf Balls

HUMBOLDT, TNWilson, a leading golf ball innovator, has launched two new models with game-changing technology to enhance performance and empower players of all skill levels. The all-new Triad and DUO Soft balls offer industry-leading balance and softness so golfers can find more fairways and sink more putts.

Building on the success of its award-winning release two years ago, the new Triad is recognized as the world’s most balanced golf ball. With its patented Tri-Balanced Construction, the updated design ensures uniform density across all three layers, delivering a perfect center of gravity for the purest roll.

The advanced design on the latest 80-compression Triad ball features a high moment of inertia designed to maximize ball speeds, while reducing driver spin for enhanced accuracy off the tee. In contrast, a thin, high-friction urethane cover increases club face interaction for best-in-class control and feel on approach shots. These enhancements are due to a reduction in compression and a redesign of the core and mantle composition. The homogeneous density of the golf ball allows for a lower spin rate while maintaining distance performance.

“The soft three-piece urethane ball provides performance benefits to help golfers find more fairways, attack more pins, and sink more putts. The re-designed Tri-Balanced Construction makes it more consistent than its predecessor,” said Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Golf Ball Innovation at Wilson Golf.

“During testing,* the new Triad had the longest driver distance and highest iron spin of competitive three-piece urethane balls. This was matched by having the highest average spin rate on 7-iron, 9-iron and 56˚ wedge shots,” he added. Triad is the only perfectly balanced golf ball on the market with no “heavy” spots, which can have a negative effect on putting and prevent a “true” roll.

The new DUO Soft remains the world’s softest golf ball, featuring a two-piece surlyn construction that delivers exceptional distance, straight ball flights, and an ultra-soft feel.

With its carefully calibrated design, the newly engineered high-energy core maximizes distance off the tee. The soft core and stiff cover result in a compression of 37 for the softest feel of any golf ball. It also provides distance performance longer than any two-piece premium ball while minimizing spin rate for lower sidespin and straighter flight.

“The new DUO Soft provides golfers with premium performance at an incredible price,” said Simonutti. “During testing** the innovative high energy core showed that the new DUO Soft carried longer than other competitive two-piece balls, yet continues to provide the softest feel of any golf ball, making it great for players looking for straighter flight and help finding the fairway.

The new DUO Soft will be available this month in five highly visible colours — red, orange, green, yellow, and pink — making it easy to track shots in flight and locate the ball quickly in any type of ground cover.

Powerful Performance, Meets Pure Feel: Srixon Introduces All-New ZXi Irons

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – With pure performance behind every strike, SRIXON® is introducing their latest iteration in Iron design with their all-new ZXi Irons. Made with groundbreaking i-FORGED technology, these Irons produce superior feel, along with improved distance, forgiveness, and control.

How Forged Should Feel
Srixon’s one-of-a-kind formula called i-FORGED or Impact Forged, is a new achievement in club design and manufacturing, developed to strengthen and enhance each ZXi Iron to create superior all-around performance.

To ensure the Irons maintain their strength and durability, Srixon used Condensed Forging in their ZXi7, ZXi5, and ZXiU Irons. This proprietary technique strengthens specially chosen sections of each Iron to increase their performance. By doing so, the added support allowed engineers to utilize softer, better feeling material in the construction without compromising durability and maintaining a pure feel. Testing results showed ZXi7 single-piece body material is 7% softer, while ZXiU and ZXi5 face material is 14% softer than the prior generation of ZX Mk II Irons.

Meanwhile, to maximize softness, each ZXi Iron was carefully tempered inside of a long oven to optimize strength and temperature for Srixon’s softest treatment yet.

Consistency in Every Strike
For ball strikers who value Tour-preferred looks, pro-level feel, and precision workability, the all-new ZXi7 Irons are true players Irons that deliver unparalleled performance from top to bottom. To help deliver a more stable strike, an expanded PureFrame is forged into the body and placed directly behind the sweet spot to reduce undesired vibrations. With these enhancements, ZXi7 Irons achieve a 9.3% reduction in vibration displacement compared to ZX7 Mk II Irons, translating to a remarkably stable feel at impact.

ZXi7 Iron Lifestyle
In the ZXi5, ZXi4, and ZXiU Irons, MainFrame technology is back for a third generation. A variable thickness network of grooves, channels, and notches, MainFrame is milled onto the backside of these Iron faces, helping to maximize flex at impact for more efficient energy transfer into the ball. The upgraded design features a wider toe-side channel, allowing engineers to reposition up to 2g of mass for a lower CG and more MOI, promoting better ball speed, consistency and forgiveness.

Like past generations, each ZXi Iron was designed with a holistic, family-oriented approach, so models can be blended seamlessly with similar shaping and nearly identical topline thickness to create similar looks at address.

Additional Features & Benefits

  • Tour V.T. Sole: Tour V.T. Sole takes turf interaction to a whole new level of detail, with a proprietary combination of sole width, bounces, and notches that encourage cleaner strikes and optimal level of workability to each ZXi Iron model. And for the first time ever, Tour V.T. Sole will be featured on ZXiU Utility Irons for a new dimension of long-game versatility.
  • Progressive Grooves: The 3i-7i feature wider grooves, while the 8i-AW have deeper, closer-set grooves to ensure consistent spin across the set. Laser milling between each groove, on every loft, adds bite on every strike.

Srixon Brings Championship Performance to Golfers Biggest Swings with All-New ZXi Woods

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – Combining revolutionary technology with meticulous craftsmanship, SRIXON® announces the launch of their all-new ZXi Woods featuring the company’s exclusive i-FLEX technology, bringing tour-inspired performance to every tee box and fairway.

Power Flex
At the heart of the new ZXi Woods lineup is Srixon’s exclusive i-FLEX technology. A completely redesigned face thickness pattern that optimizes energy transfer from the club face to the ball, resulting in maximum efficiency and enhanced ball speed. To achieve the flexibility and ball speed goals set for certain ZXi Drivers, Srixon engineers utilized an all-new titanium, Ti72S. The material is not only stronger and lighter, but also remarkably durable. The thin face center, supported by thickened areas on the heel and toe, forms the unique shape of i-FLEX, creating optimal performance on every swing.

ZXi Driver Tech
With i-FLEX technology inserted into the ZXi Woods, we were able to unlock an extra level of performance we’ve never had before. The flexibility of these clubs enables a more efficient transfer of energy, which in turn, generates more power at impact. With every swing, golfers will be able to feel the added strength and responsiveness of these new Woods and see their shots go farther.
Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development at Srixon

ZXi Drivers
The ZXi Driver lineup is made up of three distinct models: For all-around performance, the ZXi Driver combines blistering ball speed and high MOI to provide players with consistent drives, forgiveness, and relatively low spin. On the other hand, the ZXi LS Driver features a low spin profile, making it an excellent choice for players with aggressive swings who seek lower ball flights and added distance. Lastly, Srixon is introducing a completely new offering in the ZXi MAX Driver. This new model is the brand’s highest MOI Driver to date, offering an easy swing feel and maximum forgiveness, instilling total confidence on the tee box.

A standout feature of the new ZXi Drivers is their advanced adjustability options. With various weight port locations, players can effortlessly adjust the flight path or spin, allowing for greater control and precision on the course. Additionally, an all-new 1.5-degree hosel sleeve offers 12 different positions to fine-tune loft, lie, and face angle.

In addition to the upgrades made in face flex and energy transfer, ZXi Drivers feature a brand-new visible Laser Face Milling pattern. This was added to the surface to help stabilize spin and add forgiveness in wet conditions for consistent performance.

ZXi Fairway Woods and Hybrid

ZXi Wood Hybrid
Sharing the same foundational technologies of the ZXi Drivers, the all-new ZXi Fairway Woods and Hybrids deliver tour-caliber ball speed and exceptional long-game performance from any position on the course. And for the first time ever, new adjustability options.

In certain ZXi Fairway Woods, a strong, lightweight carbon crown positions mass low and maximizes COR, while the stepped crown design lowers the CG, resulting in higher, longer shots. Additionally, both the ZXi Fairway Woods and ZXi Hybrids boast progressive new footprints, improving sole shape and increasing overall forgiveness.

Additional Features & Benefits

  • Rebound Frame: Amplifying energy transfer at impact through its unique two-zone system, Rebound Frame maximizes flex across the face to increase power, ball speed, and distance.
  • Star Frame Crown (Drivers): Complex latticework creates the structural integrity necessary to support an ultralight, remarkably thin titanium crown, allowing discretionary mass to be set where it best suits each ZXi Driver’s ideal launch and spin characteristics.
  • Refined Tour Shaping: Progressive new footprints for ZXi Fairway Woods feature leading edge shape changes and an improved sole shape for increased forgiveness. Meanwhile, ZXi Hybrids feature a larger head size and volume, while the toe and back sides are also slightly larger than the previous generation to add forgiveness and inspire more confidence at address.
