Cleveland Golf Announces New Launcher XL Halo Woods

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – Cleveland Golf is proud to announce three new Launcher XL Woods: Launcher XL HALO Fairway Woods, Launcher XL HALO Hybrid, and the Launcher XL HALO Hy-Wood. These new additions to the Launcher XL family officially launch in North America on Aug. 20, 2021.

Similar to the Launcher XL Driver, the new Launcher XL HALO Fairway Woods are built with a larger overall framework with HALO perimeter weighting and increased MOI for added forgiveness on every swing.

This latest generation features Gliderail technology, which helps deliver a square face at impact for a pure strike. Also, these fairway woods feature a new Rebound Frame club structure that directs more energy into the golf ball at impact for more ball speed on every shot.

Key Innovations Inside the Launcher XL HALO Fairway Woods:

  • XL Head Design: The Launcher XL HALO Fairway Woods feature a larger head with extreme perimeter weighting (MOI of 3,338 g-cm² in the 3-wood), the most ever in a Cleveland Golf fairway wood.
  • Gliderail: Twin rails along the sole of the club help keep the face straight through impact for optimal ball striking off the tee or from the deck.
  • Rebound Frame: A flex zone in the face and a second flex zone in the body of the club work in sequence to direct more impact energy into the golf ball, increasing ball speed and distance on every shot.
  • Action Mass CB: An 8g weight placed inside the end of the grip delivers better balance for more control without added effort.
  • HiBore Crown Step: The stepped crown shape brings the height of the crown down, dropping the center of gravity and raising the launch in the process.

With this latest release, Cleveland Golf is introducing the new Launcher XL HALO Hy-Wood: a club that sets up like a hybrid, but delivers fairway wood style speed and distance.

Key Innovations Inside the Launcher XL Hybrids:

  • XL Head Design: The Launcher XL Hybrids features an MOI of 2,961 g-cm² – the most ever in a Cleveland Golf hybrid.
  • Gliderail: Three rails along the sole of the club help keep the face straight through impact for optimal ball striking regardless of the lie.

The Launcher XL HALO Fairway Woods, Launcher XL HALO Hybrids, and Launcher XL HALO Hy-Wood are available with an optional accuracy build for those that prefer accuracy above all else. This custom configuration is a half-inch short and does not feature counterbalancing for those players that demand precision and the freedom to shape their shots as they please.

TaylorMade Golf Company Introduces All-New P·790 Irons, Building on the Acclaimed Franchise of Player’s Distance Irons

CARLSBAD, CA – Following the resounding global success of one of the best-selling iron franchises in company history, TaylorMade Golf, an industry leader in product innovation, technology and performance, today announces the third generation of the P·790 irons.

A pioneer in the player’s distance iron category, P·790 are built on a foundation of performance and elegance. Delivering power, distance and feel in a package that appeals to a wide range of players. To tackle the task of improving one of the most successful irons in recent history, engineers began by redeveloping the technology that sits at the center of it all.

The all-new SpeedFoam Air, an ultralight urethane foam inside the forged hollow body construction, is 69% less dense than the prior generation. In a world where minor adjustments can lead to major results, the switch to SpeedFoam Air accounts for significant weight savings – an average of 3.5g in respective irons. The change allows for a substantial redistribution of mass to lower CG placement and improved launch properties. Furthermore, it unlocked access to the thinnest face in P·790 history and allowed for the creation of an intelligent sweet spot.

P·790 iron heads are crafted from an 8620 carbon steel that maintains strength and durability while allowing for a new thin-walled design – adding to the overall weight-saving benefits of SpeedFoam Air. This reengineered Forged Hollow Body Construction pairs with a responsive 1.5mm forged 4140 steel L-Face to promote supreme flexibility, fast ball speeds and distance while upholding a premium forged feel.

The company’s iron development team charted data from thousands upon thousands of golf shots and determined the most common impact points on the iron face. Utilizing this data, engineers strategically shaped and positioned the sweet spot to capture more of those shots. Results include measurable upticks in ball speed and distance compared to the prior generation. Overall, the sweet spot has been better aligned with center face to naturally provide performance where golfers need it the most.

The 2021 P·790 contains much of the DNA that has made this a dynamic iron franchise for more than five years. Heavy tungsten weighting, up to 31g in an individual iron head, is strategically positioned to deliver both stability and forgiveness. The patented Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ continues to provide increased face flexibility while preserving ball speed and distance on low face strikes.

Clean and classic aesthetics complete the look of this artfully designed iron. Symmetrical lines and traditional shaping create a look that’s cohesive with the full P·700 Series – making P·790 the ideal pairing for combo sets with P·770, P·7MC and even P·7MB in some cases.

P·790 UDI
Complementing the P·790 irons is the P·790 UDI, a forged driving iron designed with Tour-inspired shaping and incorporating proven TaylorMade technologies such as the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ and Forged Hollow Body Construction with a new thin-walled design. Like the other irons in the set, the P·790 UDI is powered by the all-new SpeedFoam™ Air and is constructed of a soft, 8620 carbon steel body combined with a high strength forged 4140 carbon steel face.

It features the same intelligent sweet spot that positions performance precisely where golfers need it the most. The head design promotes low spin shots with a piercing trajectory and is built for golfers who want control without sacrificing distance.

Callaway JAWS Full Toe Wedge – Every Shot In Full Control

CARSLBAD, CA – JAWS Full Toe is designed to give you control on all types of wedge shots, from chips, pitches, flops, bunker shots, and full shots into the green.

The Jaws Full Toe combines four distinct technologies that make it an absolute spin machine. It all starts with our JAWS grooves, the most aggressive groove in golf. These JAWS grooves are extended across the face to provide spin anywhere that you make contact. To increase surface roughness of the clubface, we offset groove-in-groove technology and then combine it with a raw face, a first for us at Callaway.

The wedges give you the spin and control you need to approach any shot with confidence. Beyond spin, Jaws Full Toe offers unmatched greenside versatility. The Full Toe shape and a specialized C-Grind make bunker shots, high flop shots, and short pitches and chips easy to hit, from any lie you face on the course. They also provide enhanced control on full wedge shots. The JAWS toe pad pushes the CG higher, for a design that creates a lower, more controlled trajectory. Our new Variable Weight Port System moves the CG away from the hosel for solid contact and enhanced feel.

And they come stock with a premium Lamkin UTX grip, True Temper’s newest Dynamic Gold Spinner shaft in steel, or a Project X Catalyst wedge shaft in graphite. Available in two finishes: Raw Face Chrome and Raw Black.

That’s JAWS Full Toe, the ultimate spin machine that’s designed to bring out your full imagination, so you can take on any wedge shot.

Features & Benefits

  • Spin Machine – Jaws Full Toe wedges combine full face JAWS grooves, offset groove-in-groove technology and an allnew raw face, giving you the spin and control you need to pull off every shot around the greens.
  • Confidence and Versatility – The Full Toe shape provides more face area with an enhanced toe peak. The shaping works with the specialized C-Grind to make short shots around the green easy to hit, especially bunker shots and high flops. This wedge is built to perform on mid and full wedge shots too, with great turf interaction through the ball so you can stick it close.
  • Enhanced Control – The Full Toe pushes the CG higher, for a design that creates a lower, more controlled trajectory. Our Variable Weight Port System helps us locate the CG away from the heel, for solid contact and enhanced feel.
  • Premium Components and Finishes – JAWS Full Toe Wedges come stock with a premium Lamkin UTX grip, True Temper’s newest Dynamic Gold Spinner shaft in steel, or a Project X Catalyst wedge shaft in graphite. Available in two finishes: Raw Face Chrome and Raw Black.

TAYLORMADE GOLF COMPANY INTRODUCES MILLED GRIND 3 WEDGES

RAW Face Technology has evolved with the addition of Raised Micro-Ribs for added greenside performance on partial shots

CARLSBAD, Calif.  – TaylorMade Golf Company, an industry leader in innovation and technology, introduces the all-new Milled Grind 3 (MG3) wedges, building on the Tour-proven performance of RAW Face Technology.

Many of the game’s best players prefer RAW wedges for a critical reason. The unplated surface material will rust over time to preserve consistent spin while also delivering better performance in wet conditions. The all-new Raised Micro-Ribs further enhance those benefits and deliver added precision around the greens – especially on partial shots.

TaylorMade’s Milled Grind Sole process produces wedges of exacting specifications time after time. Each leading edge and sole grind are individually CNC milled for accuracy and consistency from club to club. Player-inspired alterations to the sole and bounce offerings for MG3 wedges include:

LOW BOUNCE

The new LB sole geometry promotes a smoother entry and exit of the club through the turf. The leading edge sits closer to the ground and has less tendency to catch upon entry, while a slight increase in camber will help the club glide through the turf with less resistance. Added trail edge relief delivers versatility when opening the face up to hit finesse shots around the green.

STANDARD BOUNCE

With a slightly wider sole than on MG2, the SB sole geometry is geared towards increased playability and forgiveness on various shots. Added trail edge relief delivers versatility when opening the face up to hit finesse shots around the green.

HIGH BOUNCE

The HB sole geometry is designed to help players with a steep attack angle or those who play in softer conditions. Like the SB, the sole is slightly wider than MG2 and has increased camber for smoother turf interaction. Added trail edge relief delivers versatility when opening the face up to hit finesse shots around the green.

TW GRIND

Offered in custom offerings only, with 56° and 60° lofts available, each sole on the MG3 TW was inspired by Tiger’s grind. The 56° wedge is a dual sole with heavy heel relief, while the 60° has an extremely high bounce on the leading edge with a shaved heel. This makes it possible to open the face for flop shots, while still providing relief on the leading edge for better performance on tight lies. Designed to be supremely versatile, these unique grinds allow Tiger to take on any shot, on any course, anywhere in the world.

In examining every component of wedge design during the development of MG3, engineers made a special effort to improve sound and launch. While seemingly unrelated, improvements to both were achieved by altering the Thick-Thin Design of MG3. Precision mass placement optimized CG location to encourage lower launch with increased spin (i.e., the higher the loft, the higher the CG) while simultaneously delivering better sound and feel responses during player testing. The addition of progressive hosel lengths completes the comprehensive MG3 design. Pairing different hosel lengths with different lofts allows for optimal CG location and promotes a seamless transition from iron sets into wedges.
