Nippon Shaft Wins in Hawaii

CARLSBAD, CA – Nippon Shaft products were used by a prominent LPGA major champion to win the Lotte Championship Saturday (April 16) at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii.

The 26-year-old Korean used Nippon Shaft’s innovative N.S.PRO ZELOS 7 steel shafts in her irons along with the company’s classic N.S.PRO 950GH shafts in her wedges en route to an 11-under par total and a two-shot victory.

The ground-breaking N.S. PRO ZELOS shaft combines the power, feel, and lightweight characteristics of graphite with the stability, control, and consistency of steel, delivering increased distance, higher trajectories, and improved performance. It is the world’s lightest steel shaft series.

The N.S.PRO 950GH shafts are Nippon Shaft’s groundbreaking sub-100 gram steel shafts developed many years ago and that have been used hundreds of times by professional tour winners, especially on the LPGA Tour.

More than 200 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy, and trajectory.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands.

COBRA Golf’s New KING Forged TEC Irons Are Sleeker and Softer Than Ever

CARLSBAD, CA – COBRA Golf today introduced its fourth generation of KING Forged TEC Irons, which feature three significant improvements including a 5-step forged body and face, a sleeker topline with reduced offset, and a lighter and softer foam for improved sound and feel. The irons carry over a hollow body design with tungsten weighting and PWRSHELL technology that together provide enhanced distance with improved stability in a more compact shape. The Forged Tec Irons are available in a variable or ONE Length set up, which are both fully forged. The 2022 edition debuts a third model to the family with the Forged Tec X, which offers more forgiveness in a players’ game-improvement shape. Between the three models, the KING Forged Tec line delivers great looks, soft feel, and precision for single digit to mid handicaps.

The Forged TEC and TEC ONE Length irons fall into the “player’s distance” category and are designed for better players in the low to mid handicap range. The newest TEC irons utilize premium materials, a more precise forging process, and refined shaping to deliver a compact, soft iron that caters to great ball strikers and those looking for added distance and forgiveness. Unlike many competitor irons in the “player’s distance” category, the Tec irons feature a new 5-step forging process used in Tour caliber forgings to create an exceptionally soft feel and precise shaping. The Tec irons reveal a thinner topline and reduced offset to create a preferred players look at address. The compact shaping of the new KING Forged TEC irons belies the technology under the hood that adds to the performance and satisfying feel. A hollow body design is filled with a lighter and softer foam material to promote more distance while maintaining great sound, feel and feedback. Each iron in the set features a forged PWRSHELL Face to create maximum speed and high launch. A 20g tungsten toe weight centers the CG perfectly behind the sweet spot for pure feeling ball strikes with added stability on off-center hits.

The Forged TEC ONE Length irons are configured with a constant, 7-iron length setup. Having every iron the same length promotes one repeatable setup, posture, and swing for more consistency. A ONE Length setup reduces variables in posture and ball position to promote more centered contact and more accuracy as a result. COBRA engineers have manipulated the design of each iron to match the weight and length of a 7-iron, allowing for optimal distances and gapping between irons. This is primarily achieved through matching 7-iron head and swing weights in every iron in the set to create a consistent feel.

The Forged TEC X is the Forged TEC’s more forgiving counterpart that is designed for mid to higher handicaps and paves the way for a new category of player’s “game-improvement” irons. The iron features a lower CG design, lower profile, a slightly thicker topline, and stronger lofts than the Forged TEC irons. The TEC X also features a hollow body and foam insert, but utilizes a massive 65g tungsten weight (45g more than TEC) to lower CG and maximize stability for higher launch despite the stronger lofts. The Forged TEC X delivers the ultimate combination of a clean players’ shape, soft, forged-like feel, and extreme forgiveness allowing mid to high handicaps to look and feel like a better player while also benefiting from the game-improving technologies that the TEC X has to offer.

Arccos Golf Introduces Next Generation Smart Sensors

STAMFORD, CT – Golfers looking to gain a better understanding of their game and improve faster will benefit most from the next generation of Smart Sensors launched today by Arccos Golf, the pioneer of big data and Artificial Intelligence for golf.

The latest Smart Sensors (Gen3+) feature new automatic shot tracking technology powered by A.I. machine learning that tightly integrates Arccos hardware and software to pinpoint a player’s shots more accurately than ever before. The advanced technology has been developed over the past three years by Arccos Data Scientists and Engineers, after analyzing more than 500 million shots hit using Arccos sensors in 194 countries worldwide.

Once paired with the award-winning Arccos Caddie app, the result is the most complete on-course data tracking and analysis system in the game, providing users with Strokes Gained insights for every game aspect and each club in their bag. This delivers a clear, personalized picture of where a player needs to focus practice sessions, lessons or equipment selections to achieve lower scores.

With the new system, golfers will receive 13 sensors that boast a sleek new design, plus an all-new P3 Putter Sensor that is more than 40% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor. Created specifically with pistol grips in mind, the putter sensor fits most standard grips for a seamless shot tracking experience on the greens. The new sensor kit is also now packaged in a more sustainable box that reflects the brand’s drive toward eco-friendly products.

The new Smart Sensors ($199.99 MSRP) offer extensive battery life and deliver hands-free, fully- automatic shot capture for every club in the bag. All purchases include the first-year membership – billed annually thereafter at $12.99 per month. Existing Arccos members can purchase the updated P3 Putter Sensor separately and can benefit from new automatic shot tracking when using current generation sensors.

This latest release follows the introduction of Strokes Gained by Club, a revolutionary software feature that premiered earlier this month. It represents the first time that personalized advanced analytics have been applied to on-course equipment and allows players to see which clubs in their bag are gaining or costing them strokes on the course. Arccos members can now make more informed decisions on club set-up via head-to-head comparisons.

Golf’s first Artificial Intelligence platform, Arccos automatically tracks shots while delivering incredibly comprehensive in-round insights. The system is highlighted by an A.I.-powered rangefinder, smart club distances and caddie advice for every golf hole on earth. These innovations helped new Arccos members who played at least ten rounds lower their handicap by an average of 5.78 strokes in 2021. In total, Arccos members have now recorded more than 10 million rounds and the world’s largest on-course dataset consists of over 35 billion separate data points.
