The Aldila Rogue ∞ White shaft has tremendous stability and consistency. Ideal for the heavy hitter and the player fighting a hook.

Introduction
If you’ve been immersed in golf equipment for a while, you probably have history with Aldila’s Rogue shafts. For a stretch of several years, Rogue was one of the hottest aftermarket shafts and a stock option in almost every major OEM driver. The launch of the new Rogue Infinity shafts sees Aldila looking to get back to those heights. In this, the first of four reviews, I’ll take a look at the model for heavy hitters, the Aldila Rogue ∞ White.

Looks
The graphics on the Rogue ∞ shafts are consistent across the four models. Moderately sized Rogue branding sits in the middle of the shaft, with the “O” in “Rogue” swapped out for infinity symbol. Gentle topographical map graphics sit between “Rogue” and the shaft specs. My favorite part of these shafts, visually, is the wraparound infinity symbol at the butt end because it’s a “cut out” in the finish, a segment of raw graphite. It’s a subtle difference, but I think it’s very cool.

The Aldila Rogue ∞ White is the one that calls back most directly to the Rogue shafts of old with its black, white, and silver color palette. I think this is a great example of a simple color scheme executed really well. The clean colors mesh well with the moderately busy graphics to create a shaft that looks cool without trying too hard. Feel
In keeping with the normal red/blue/white structure, the Aldila Rogue ∞ White is the stiffest (most tip stiff) member of the family. It also has the softest butt section of any Rogue Infinity shaft. During the swing, I could feel a small kick below my hands, but the rest of the shaft was quite rigid. The feel said, “Give me everything you have, I’ll keep it all in play.”
I was able to test the Aldila Rogue Infinity White in both Stiff and X flex, and the difference is exactly what you’d expect or want. The shafts have the same profile – softer butt, very stiff tip – but the Stiff flex takes everything down a notch. It’s not night and day, but there’s an obvious difference when hitting them side by side. From a feel perspective, I could play either one. The Stiff is a bit less demanding and would be preferable on the back nine; the X flex gives me that assurance when I’m swinging all out on the opening holes.

As you can see above, Aldila puts the “Precision Stiffness” code on each shaft. The code is consistent across flexes, at least in the shafts I’ve seen. Going from butt to tip, with 1 being the softest and 9 being the stiffest, the Rogue ∞ White is 6-9-8, the Rogue ∞ Red is 8-8-6, the Rogue ∞ Blue is 9-5-8, and the Rogue ∞ CB is 7-7-8.

Performance
From the original NV through to the modern offerings, Aldila has always been synonymous with stability in my mind. These are shafts built for the fast, aggressive swingers who need a shaft to keep up and keep their wilder tendencies in check. By all those metrics, the new Aldila Rogue ∞ White lives up to the family name.

The tech behind the Rogue Infinity line is Dual Torque Core, a dual-layered construction. This entails using full length sheets of 80-Ton Pitch Fiber in the core to “maximize energy transfer and minimize unwanted deformation.” 46-Ton Pitch Fiber is used in the angle plies to further reduce torque, making the shaft more consistent and stable.

Practically speaking, what the Aldila Rogue ∞ White did best was rein in my wild swings and keep the ball off the left side. For me, it was the most anti-left shaft I’ve hit in recent memory. With the X flex, I could fully release the club and not hit that ugly running hook. The flip side is that when I didn’t commit to getting through the ball, I could miss big right.
One of my favorite things about shafts like the Rogue Infinity White is the sense that I’m fully responsible for the ball flight. I know exactly what it’s going to do with any given swing, and I don’t get weird results. The one thing that was a bit unusual was that I was more capable of hitting a small controlled draw than I was a small fade. I wasn’t necessarily unhappy with that, but it was weird. A small fade is my go to when I’m playing well, but the Aldila Rogue ∞ White gave me a fairly small window for hitting that shot.

In terms of trajectory, the Aldila Rogue ∞ White produced the kind of piercing shots you’d expect when I hit it straight. My pushes and cuts pushed the average spin a little higher than you might expect, but they were still far from ballooning. No matter what shot shape you play, this shaft can help bring ball flight down a notch.
The Aldila Rogue ∞ White is available in three weight classes and six total configurations. In all three weight classes – 50, 60, and 70 grams – Aldila offers the White in Stiff and X flex. [See Price / Buy]
