Galvin Green Named Official Team Supplier Of Outerwear To European Ryder Cup Squad

Global leader in high-performance golf clothing to outfit 2016, 2018 captains, players, caddies

(VÄxjö, Sweden) – Galvin Green – the world’s leading maker of functional golf clothing for serious players and the No. 1 global golf partner of GORE-TEX® – has been selected as the Official Team Supplier of Outerwear to the 2016 and 2018 European Ryder Cup Teams.

Through this partnership, Galvin Green will first provide its premium waterproof garments to Captain Darren Clarke, his vice captains, team members and their caddies during next year’s matches at Hazeltine National Golf Club. The ultra-lightweight, breathable rain suits will also be offered for purchase by the wider golfing population after the competition concludes.

“Galvin Green’s garments proved to be very popular when part of the official Ryder Cup range at Gleneagles,” said Richard Hills, European Ryder Cup Director. “We are particularly pleased to have one of the most sought-after outerwear brands in golf supporting Europe when they defend the trophy next year.”

A final decision on the specific garments to be supplied by Galvin Green is yet to be made by Clarke. Currently under consideration are three different fabrics, including a brand new technology being tested by GORE-TEX® technicians in Scotland. Each garment is subjected to a period of at least 50-hours of exhaustive testing in different playing conditions, including simulated heavy downpours in a rain chamber. The results will be scrutinized to determine the best option for producing up to six prototypes that are expected to be ready for play-testing one year out from the event itself.

Whatever the final outcome, the ultimate jacket will feature Galvin Green’s trademark quality and streamlined tailoring, along with water-repellant zippers and adjustable collar, chest width and bottom edge. Matching waterproof trousers will retain the company’s customary long leg openings for easy dress, elasticated waist fittings, CORDURA® fabric for extra abrasion resistance on the leg bottoms and fleece-lined pockets.

“Our ambition is to create a thoroughly modern, standout rain suit in stretch fabric that offers superb playability in a wide range of conditions,” said Mats Lundqvist, Lead Designer, Galvin Green. “It will be a little bit different in appearance to anything seen before at The Ryder Cup, but we know the captains, players and caddies will be thrilled with the playing experience it offers.”

In conjunction with outfitting the European Team, Galvin Green will also launch a dedicated Ryder Cup collection before the 2018 event at Le Golf National near Paris, when The Ryder Cup returns to Continental Europe for the first time in 21 years.

Based in Sweden, Galvin Green is a pure golf brand that developed the sport’s first apparel layering system – the Multi-Layer Concept – more than a decade ago. This distinctive approach uses leading-edge fabric technologies to ensure the dry comfort, thermal regulation and outer protection that helps players optimize performance.

Fujikura #1 Golf Shaft On PGA Tour And LPGA Tour

(Vista, CA – August 24, 2015) – According to the Darrell Survey, Fujikura golf shafts were the number one driver and wood shaft brand in the clubs of players at this past weekend’s Wyndham Classic.

Fujikura shafts were all the number one shaft used by players at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open LPGA event. A total of 156 Fujikura shafts in play at the event overall, which is 35 more than the same event last year. It is yet another indicator that the Fujikura brand is most preferred on tour.

The winner of the web.com News Sentinel Open us Fujikura in his driver and 3 wood also.

Shaft models in play at both the men’s and woman’s events included Speeder Evolution, PRO, S.I.X., Motore Speeder, Fuel, Speeder PRO and Precurser. The “Precurser” is Fujikura’s prototype brand, which indicates that these models are most likely NEW for 2016 shafts that are currently being tested by pros.

Fujikura has consistently been the #1 golf shaft on tour for more than 30 years, but the company has always put an emphasis on how important being properly fit is at all levels. Contrary to the common misconception that fitting is only for the better player, Fujikura has been able to prove that all golfers that are fit into a Fujikura shaft become better players.

Golfers of all ability levels are living proof that Fujikura shafts are the best golf shafts.

The Darrell Survey recently reported Fujikura as the “#1 Consumer Driver Shaft Brand in the U.S.” after conducting a shaft brand preference study at golf courses across the country. Multiple other surveys from sources such as Golf Digest, Golfweek, Sports Illustrated Golf and Golf WRX have also found that better golfers use Fujikura golf shafts.

Fujikura has stood by their commitment to custom fitting shafts to enhance performance for all golfers regardless of their index or # of rounds played. Instead of focusing on the golfer, they focus on swing data and maximizing a golfer’s ability by optimizing the performance of the golfers clubs based on their individual swing.

GiveYourOldGameTheShaft.com features golfers of all levels being custom fit and the significant results these golfers saw with a simple re-shaft. That website is part of Fujikura’s educational advertising campaign that is aimed at showing golfers the real benefits of Fujikura golf shafts.

Fujikura Marketing Manager, Stephanie Hartgraves explains how the “Give Your Old Game The Shaft” idea came about.

“Our mission at Fuji is to grow the game of golf by helping golfers play their best golf and enjoy golf to the max. We all know how important custom fitting our golf equipment is, but that is because we are in the industry. Most golfers fall into 4 distinct categories when it comes to their experience with custom fitting. 1) They don’t know what it is. 2) They are familiar with the phrase but don’t really know what it means or how important it is. 3) They have a good idea about what it is and how important it is, but they don’t think they are a good enough player for anything custom 4) The golfers that have been custom fit with the right shaft/head combination and play better golf because of it.

“I figure the easiest way to show golfers in categories 1-3 that getting fit with a Fujikura shaft will produce instant results in distance/accuracy and FUN, is by letting them watch their fellow golfers experience it first hand! The Give Your Old Game the Shaft campaign was simply born from the idea of bottling that experience and sharing it with the rest of golfers. Golf is full of intimidation and these are only acting as barriers to the game. Our #1 goal is to help golfers no longer feel intimidated by the custom fitting process through getting a glimpse at others experiences.

Honestly, my favorite part about going to work every day at Fujikura is seeing and hearing about golfer’s first time fitting experiences and how excited they get for their next round. The boost of confidence alone is incredible to see. And then there’s the Eric’s of the world (one of the golfers at our demo event featured on GiveYourOldGameTheShaft.com) that gain 50 yards by switching to Fujikura.
