Galvin Green Named Official Team Supplier Of Outerwear To European Ryder Cup Squad

Through this partnership, Galvin Green will first provide its premium waterproof garments to Captain Darren Clarke, his vice captains, team members and their caddies during next year’s matches at Hazeltine National Golf Club. The ultra-lightweight, breathable rain suits will also be offered for purchase by the wider golfing population after the competition concludes.

A final decision on the specific garments to be supplied by Galvin Green is yet to be made by Clarke. Currently under consideration are three different fabrics, including a brand new technology being tested by GORE-TEX® technicians in Scotland. Each garment is subjected to a period of at least 50-hours of exhaustive testing in different playing conditions, including simulated heavy downpours in a rain chamber. The results will be scrutinized to determine the best option for producing up to six prototypes that are expected to be ready for play-testing one year out from the event itself.
Whatever the final outcome, the ultimate jacket will feature Galvin Green’s trademark quality and streamlined tailoring, along with water-repellant zippers and adjustable collar, chest width and bottom edge. Matching waterproof trousers will retain the company’s customary long leg openings for easy dress, elasticated waist fittings, CORDURA® fabric for extra abrasion resistance on the leg bottoms and fleece-lined pockets.
